Hey man we fish dreges here on the east coast for white marlin constantly may be something to that confused comment but we never have blues come up on the dredge they always attack the lures first at least on my boat they do so never seen the confused blue they just flat out attack with a vengeance we just see confused whites love the videos and the Merrit catchem up!

I dont personally think the Blues would get confused on the dredge but thats just my opinion and you know how it goes in this sport, everyone has an opinion and I guess There really is no right or wrong just what works best for you. Patrick Pope I live in South Carolina. We also pull dredges in blue marlin tournaments but probably more so to attract sails. A dredge is not needed to catch blue marlin while lure fishing
