Hey Mark, Thankyou 😄 yeah we’re actually going to give her some TLC very very soon, as we’re hauling out soon. It’s super worn down and the surveyor suggested we don’t bother piling it as it only stays jive looking for a couple of weeks and just to wash it down and scrub against the grain not with. So we’ve mostly been doing that since we bought her. Although then we’ve had suggestions to still do it from other people since so I think we will

Looking at the video only, the edges are so warped I would be wondering if you could sand it fair again without hitting the screws. I think you should pull a few plugs and see what the fasteners look like. There may be little left of them. That could be the decider.
Yeah for sure 😆 the plan is to remove and do that fake teak, you can find some that look good and not tacky. But all waiting for enough funds of course 😏 some area’s are already exposing the screws 😢 I think we’ll very lightly sand if, recork it and varnish/oil it and see how it goes. Hopefully it’ll get us through for an extra year or so 🤪

Heya, this was filmed in early July so we’re around 4 months behind. But we are off the boat for a little while during winter so will catch up a lot closer to real time for next year’s season 😆
Unfortunately we haven’t tracked our expenses super well since we started, but we plan to next year 😄 but Croatia was more so expensive for eating out than anything else, groceries ended up being pretty similar to everywhere else, marina’s we’re extremely expensive (which we pretty much never use anyway) around 90-150 euro per night 😳 In comparison to Greece which is around (8-12 euro for a meal) or turkey (4-6 euro for a meal) Croatia was around 20 euro for a normal meal Pretty similar to Australian prices, which is pretty expensive by world standards We probably spend around 100 euro per week on groceries, diesel is varied widely depending on the time of year and how rushed we are to get somewhere. And has also really changed as we’ve gained more sailing experience Aswell Food is definitely our largest expense, maintenance and upgrades we don’t have a good grip on how much we’ve spent so far to be honest and also would very widely each for depending on upgrades I guess
Well in the first 2 minutes she says it costs 120 a night to anchor… that’s expensive for anywhere to stay in Europe per night… nice hotel or not! I’ve been in Spain for 2 months and the most I spent for a penthouse suite was 75 a night

to let you know water can not have a charge/fee for anchoring anywhere in the world. its like in the usa if a dock is in the water and you pull up to it they can not legally charge you a fee. its called water rights. not sure how this works in other places but usa set standards around the world. now there are exceptions like coral reef protection areas and such wich we all must understand and let the reefs grow back. even though it wont cause of rising temps.
Yeah we’ve also heard the same thing but Croatia has some strange rules where they get away with it. If they have a restaurant and put out a mooring buoy field and obviously we all know if you take a mooring you have to pay someone usually, then say; there’s only a thin strip of land…apparently they are also able to charge you for anchoring in any body of water that’s within 300 metres from that piece of land. It’s something ridiculous like that anyway, we managed to stay well clear of having to pay for any but Croatia gets away with some strange rules
The area she was talking about is a natural resort, protected under the UNESCO heritage. Money collected from the tickets is used for keeping the nature preserved, rangers and fire fighters paid, along with keeping the numbers of visitors under control, so the flora and fauna aren’t devastated by overwhelming number of tourists. Anchorage without buoys all throughout of the rest of the Adriatic sea is free of charge. The ticket price mentioned is not charged for a person, it’s calculated by the length of the boat accordingly. Because of the vast amount of charter visitors, it’s connected to number if berths on a boat. So, for example if you have around 12 m max 6 berths, 120/6=20€ per person. So actually very cheap. Good luck sailors
