This was such a raw, but empowering video. As someone who is wanting to exit nursing and get into tech...I felt this in my soul, and I needed it. Thank you.

So raw and real. Thanks, Morgan. I’m currently where you were-living off savings while pursuing a UX certificate.

I'm not sure what your situation is/what your day to day looks like but remember that the certificate does not get you the job, if you have the time please work on projects outside of the bootcamp to expedite the transitioning process!

@@MorganUX thank you, I appreciate it! 💕I’ve finished the Google certificate in three months and I’m working on my UX portfolio almost 24/7. Sometimes I’m scared I’m putting this much effort and nothing will come out of it, but this video does the trick every time!

Really glad I came across this video. I’m in the process of looking for employment in my current field while also obtaining a certification in UX design. I’m super stressed out and wondering if I made the right decision to “attempt” to transition.
Thank you for making an honest video. It’s nice to hear about the successes but it’s comforting to know that the success isn’t without struggle.
    Congrats on everything!

Thank you! That feeling of, 'oh my god did I just waste a ton of time and money' will be a constant theme in your transition. DO NOT LET THAT STOP YOU FROM MOVING FORWARD. Keep improving. Practice your interview skills. Work on projects outside of your certification program. You'll make it :)

Unfortunately, you’re probably gonna feel that a lot until you finally hit that point where everything clicks! Don’t give up!

Hey Morgan, I am currently over whelmed while I am writing this. But I just wanna say thank you so much for making this video. I am currently in a similar situation where I am hating my job and exploring UI/UX to its fullest. That's how I landed on your channel. I have been in online marketing for about 7 years now and all the while I have not enjoyed it or felt content, doing it. Had exploring many things all this while and i could really connect to UI/UX and I aspire to become a UI/UX designer. Have given myself a timeline of 6 months and currently pursuing Google UX design course alongwith my full-time job.
Watching this video gives me so much of hope. And that last line of yours where you said you "hated marketing"- I feel ya. Could relate to it totally and i am confident to make the transition that I desparate of.
Thank you again for the video. Looking forward to more such content.

Oh yeah and i am writing this from India. So your content is blowing global now. All the best for your TH-cam Channel. 👍

@@arjunpkumar12 Congrats on deciding to make the switch! Don't forget that you can always use your marketing background to your advantage in interviews. If you haven't seen it, I have a video about 'design perspectives' that addresses using your background to become a more established designer. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for sharing this. Currently finding a job in tech is so hard here in the Bay Area when the job market is crappy. Although better days are coming!

Thanks for sharing your experiences and transition raw and real. I am feeling better, I'll able to figure it out now that I know what's the missing piece in my story but I can't go without mentioning something,
My girlfriend sent me this video few days back. i kept saying I'll watch it later
I have been freaking out for the past couple of weeks about my career. I am working in an MNC for almost 2 years now but I want switch to UX design, I just can't seem to quit my job because I don't think I am good at UX.
She's been motivating me and tryna understand how I could figure it out, My girl found this video for me and I'll be forever in debt to her. Thanks. Brb gotta make her proud. She's a real keeper.

Shoutout to your girlfriend! My boyfriend was a huge support for me throughout my process. Everyone gets imposter syndrome, but it means that you care (which is essential). Lean on your girlfriend, she clearly believes in you. Please reach out if you need any advice, and make sure to buy your girl a nice dinner with your first UX paycheck!

Thank you for sharing, Morgan! It's ironic that I came across this video because I've been having some doubts the past few days. I graduated from CF in November, and while I know I'm still early in the job search process, the weight of unemployment is starting to get to me. I came across a job position in admin work (which I've done previously) and have been heavily considering applying because at this point, a job is a job and I need one. But then that makes me feel upset because I've invested so much time, energy, and money into becoming a UX designer so UGH. I'm struggling to stay positive in this current job search environment, but I hope that I'll break into the industry some day (soon, hopefully!) It's rough, but I'm doing my best to continuously learn and grow and not give up :) thank you for the reminder!

If you qualify for the job guarantee, remember that you may get your money back in a few months if you don't find a job in time! There have been cases of people getting their money back and finding a job right after, haha! Glad to hear you're staying strong :)
