Urdu is the Turkic name for our language. The indigenous name is Lashkari or Lashkari Zaban. I think like how Persians call their language Parsi although it's commonly called Farsi. Good luck with you're studying. With warm regards.

When the moderator asked one of the participants "why do Iranians know so little about Pakistan?", his answer was very enlightening. The participant said "Iranians don't know much about Pakistan because we Iranians think we are superior and better than them." I found this to be true in my interaction with some of the Iranians I met in the United States. In the late 1970's I had quite a few Iranian students at a University In Texas, where I taught. I sensed their surprise when they found out that their Professor was originally from Pakistan. However, I found most Iranians to be kind and friendly and I wish that as neighbours we should be close to each other. I am retired now and I hope some time soon I would go to Iran and learn Farsi. When people speak the same language, it usually brings them closer. Love and respects to my Iranian brothers and sisters and may Allah swt Bless all of them.
Yes indeed. Afghans are also neighbours, they speak Farsi (Dari dialect), Pashto, Uzbek, Turkmen because these are their neighbours. Where as Pakistan raises English as their desired language of success. They do have Farsi as second language to learn. In fact I do not know any Pakistani who learnt Arabic or Farsi as much as English. French, German, Iranians, Arab nations study in their own languages not in imported languages. I think Orya Maqbool jan states this too more eloquently.
Do you think now, iran is more superior than us in terms of any thing now, the only good things in Pakistani education is only english language, if we removed the english language from our education then there is left nothing, Native language is not the key of a success in education, here is the example of singapore, switzerland and india.

Perisan was also our official language before the British removed it. I visited Iran in 2018 and fell in love with it's people and language. I hope Persian can make a come back in Pakistan 🇵🇰 🇮🇷
@S U it was for many centuries under Iranic/ Turkic empires. It was only abolished in the mid 1800's and replaced with english. As for the iranic people, there are more than 50 million in Pakistan including many of my closest friends

I was smiling the whole time with a big smile on how cute they sounded. However, it also deeply saddens me on how little Irani's and Pakistani's know about eachother and our perceptions are rather formed by the media that distorts image of Iran anf Pakistan in front of the world.
I, personally, have recently developed a lot of interest in Irani culture and language and I love so many things about Iran. I researched so many things, Iran feels like a second home now ❤️
Though, for most Pakistanis Iran is such an underrated neighbour and I'd say, so is Pakistan for Iran!

I'm surprised people know even this much 😂. The majority of Iranians live far away from us in western parts of Iran. Most Persians don't even know a lot about more eastern regions of their own country such as Balochistan etc.
Also, not all the cultures of Pakistan are Indo-Aryan (Indic), which seems to be a misconception reinforced here. We have majority Iranic ethnolinguistic groups in parts west of the river Indus (Pashtun, Baloch, Ormuri/Burki, Wakhi, Yidgha etc). That means we have a fair degree ethnolinguistic continuity with our western neighbors, just as we do to our east. I think we should definitely make an effort to know each other better.

@@nina_112 Iranians, Pakistani's and North Indians are Indo-Iranian (Aryan) people, which in turn is the Asia specific branch of Indo-Europeans. But Indo-Iranians (Aryans) are further divisible into Indo-Aryan and Iranian sub-branches. The linguistic split between the two happened nearly 4000 years ago, meaning that they mixed into a different native base populations and they have a pretty different ethnogenesis overall. Indo-Aryans seem to be from an earlier wave and took a more eastern migration path after arriving in Southern Asia. So only Pakistani's west of the river Indus are Iranic. Eastern Pakistan and Northern Indians are Indo-Aryan, not Iranic.

It's absolutely shameful that we've never thought of Iran as one of the best friends we can have in our neighborhood. But... at least this govt is making the amends. I sure hope that we are able to make good friends with Iran in near future.
Also, I loved the anthem at the end. It's the Pakistani national anthem, and it's in Farsi.
It's because of sanctions and couple of other things that we cannot trade and cooperate much with Iran. Iran offers to sell gas for half price but world would sanction us too. Like Imran Khan said, our foreign policy can't be independent if our economy isn't independent

@@Figs-and-olives ECO has so much potential but bcuz of two countries Iran and Afghanistan the region couldn't get connected. Iran has sanctions and Afghanistan was under war with Soviets. Today it's more possible because Chinese and Russian interests also match and Afghan war is about to end (at least not as chaotic as before)
It's not shameful. The ayatollahs and mullahs in Iran don't like Pakistan. The Shah was very very helpful to Pakistan. He was a true friend to Pakistan.

They were proud that khalifa bent before their ancestors.

I'm from india but it's very painfull to see that Iran and Pakistan never work together as muslim nations in progress. And on other matters they barely comes together. They both can protect each other.

I have been to iran more times than I can count and the more I go, the more I fall in love with this country. I have seen iran go from a destroyed land from the war to a highly developed world. The government did an amazing job. Its no less than Europe . The culture, the religion, THE LANGUAGE, the bazars always have me awestruck. I feel more at home in iran than in Pakistan lol. I haven’t been able to visit in a year and a half due to the pandemic and I miss Iran so much.

It isn't a big thing but it made me very happy.
I live in Islamabad and recently many shops and malls have started to sell Iranian food items, cakes, biscuits and toffees mainly and believe me it made me so happy to see our brotherly country's products in our markets.
