- In this video I check out Banjo-Kongzooie this is a rom hack for DK64 for the Nintendo 64 made by GloriousLiar. This mod puts the world of Banjo-Kazooie into DK64. This hack includes Spiral Mountain, Grunty's Lair, Mumbo's Mountain and Treasure Trove Cove. The first DK64 Romhack to use custom textured maps, among other new technical innovations. Explore the lair and first two levels of Banjo-Kazooie with the DK Crew, and collect some things along the way.

I love Banjo-Kazooie (1998) and Donkey Kong 64 (1999) for Nintendo 64.
This is freaking awesome, DK64 is my most nostalgic game and I'm really happy to see full rom hacks for the game.

Looks like Donkey Kong 64 hacks are catching up! I hope to see at least one hack as ambitious as Jiggies of Time.
Now, two things I've noticed are how at least two of the Kongs jump as high as the Shock Jump Spring and how exploring this game is really disjointed with all the abilities divided amongst the Kongs. The Tag Barrels do make sense for preventing the game from getting broken, but it's rather tedious trekking towards one just to swap the character.

Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo Kazooie are two of my favorite Nintendo 64 games and besides those my other favorite Nintendo 64 games are Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros 64 and Flying Dragon (it's a fighting game) and Clay Fighter (another fighting game) and Mario Kart 64 oh and also Worms Armageddon.😊🎮♥️

I'm sorry, did DK just get Shun Goku Satsu'd during his celebration? That was the best part of all this. For real though, great to see DK64 getting this ROM hacking love finally.
7:12 Tiny Kong from Donkey Kong 64 (1999) can fly in a helicopter style like Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (1994), Dixie Kong from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest (1995) and Conker the Squirrel from Conker's Bad Fur Day (2001).
The Opening Cutscene is really neat.

The B.Locker on this hack is really cool.
This is pretty cool, I hope this develops into a complete game someday, if not that then someone makes a really good DK64 hack if development with DK64hacking is coming along like this. To your point about all the Kongs kind of feeling the same, I think it would be great if someone just made a game where you could just play as any Kong you wanted for most of the game and did away with color locked collectibles.

Banjo Kong 64 was my childhood along with Donkey Kazooie.
It feels wrong to have such cheerful music when in DK64 basically every stage theme is in minor.

Doing this on the randomizer, or whatever patch they got that makes Hot-swap possible. Just switching kongs without the barrels. But the barrel placement is nice too

I want a DK64 mod that lets you switch to SM64 mario… god that would be fun! In DK64, in this mod… mario just has the best movement by far!
I saw that he added patch that adds tag anywhere but since its just two levels i think it would be more fun figuring out how to platform to the diff bananas with diff kongs. Excited to try this out, i slept on this hack. Glad to see dk64 hacking moce forward! Was looking forward to this for years cause bk and sm64 get so much hacking love but not dk64

It would have been great to see the entire game world and not just everything up until Treasure Trove Cove. Do you suppose this is just for starters and they are working on bringing in the entire world of Banjo-Kazooie into DK64?

Has anyone else had a problem where the 2.0 randomizer freezes while generating the seed? I didn't with previous versions. Is 2.0 just still not fully "out"?

Fun fact: There's already a Banjo-Kazooie level in Donkey Kong 64. Fungi Forest was a Banjo-Kazooie level that got scrapped and was later added to DK64.
1:53 a breath of fresh air too, cuz Banjo Kazooie has some of the worst and most uninspired enemy designs I’ve ever seen in a Nintendo game.
Someone at the DK64 Randomizer Discord told me that the Talon Trot does not change Lankie's speed.
