So then to the truckers who has already done that. It's not really worth it? I drive for a company but I hear both from other drivers. Depending who person is some like others don't. Am coming with the conclusion I might have to try it myself to really know

I'll believe it when he shows a 1099. They run through nebraska all the time. In the last 12 to 13 years in trucking I ain't ever heard of an oversize owner op making even 600k through 1 truck. Don't send people down a pipe dream. I'd suggest to anyone new to the industry to get at least 5 years in with more than just pulling a reefer before buying a truck to get the feel for the cut throat industry. Also....don't buy a truck right now. The used market especially is insane. It's a great time to be the one selling and a bad time to be the one buying. I'm not saying all this to talk down on this line of work either but there is simply too many people getting in trucks that don't even have the smarts to handle 4 wheels. It is far too easy to get a cdl these days. Back in March of 2021 I had another owner op from California merge right into my truck at 75mph while I was passing him. He was of course at fault. Almost lost my business from downtime while trying to get his insurance to fix 30k of damages. I was not in the wrong at all on the whole situation and I had 3 months of downtime with no income while he was able to keep going like nothing ever happened. It's not for everyone out here. Kinda gotta take the good with the bad. Best of luck to anyone that does come into the industry. There's a variety of things to be tried.

I’ve been escorting extra legal loads for several years. The really heavy loads are transported on 20+ foot wide dual lane trailers. We had some that grossed around 1 million pounds and had a puller truck and two pusher trucks. Those usually have to slow to 5 MPH, load only, and center up on some bridges. It could take weeks to do what would ordinarily take one day. Permits may also require law enforcement escort or nighttime moves.

I hope this video inspires young minds to start trucking because 1 you make a ton of money with hard work and dedication 2 it's a fun job besides the bs that comes with every job fun as seeing the states, monuments, and beautiful scenery 3 it teaches you how other parts of the us are not like where you live different cultures different way of life 4 after a while and if you want you could start your own trucking company and make even more money then before and live wealthy. I play American Truck Simulator its fun and all but I want to try the real thing

A cdl drivers im my line of work make 400k-650k a year (depending on how you work) and dont have to spend that much on equipment, trailers, fuel you still pay alot for but with fuel surcharge its not horrible. so my question is hauling these things really the highest paid? maybe highest pay for lowest run time maybe but past that idk

I live in Licking County and work in Hebron, OH. There's a load coming past my work this week that weighs 900,000 lbs (450t) and is 270' long. That's nuts. Wonder what this driver is getting paid. I believe the contractor is Capital City, which means he/she's probably not an owner-operator and isn't getting paid what this driver in your video is getting paid.
