Thanks for the ideas. I have some stiff wire, that springy music wire from hobby shops, I use for a lot of things. The plan is to see what wire I can fit into Otter phone case with a loop sticking out. Shoe lace or whatever for lanyard.

I've updated this design recently using this tough but lightweight, flexible cord, you might want to give it a try: amzn.to/3vkuhSG

Great suggestions. I was just looking at one to keep my phone when kayaking for $21.99. I like all the ideas you offered. Thanks.

I really love your explanations, humor and great DIY ideas!👍😊 I now understood that these soft TPU cases won't work with lanyards. Unfortunately these are my favourites.😅 I now wonder if I should buy a case like that of your children with the hard case having bumber corners. I worry though about the thickness and the magnetic ring at the back that most seem to have. I am using a metal stand and fear it would be annoying to get it out because of the magnet. Don't know...🤔
Have loved my TPU case just too much.😅

You see all the variations I have here and none of the soft cases have failed yet, and I bang them around a good bit.

I love it! I was looking at Amazon for something like this and I thought to myself, the prices for these chintzy things, what a rip! Came here for inspiration for DIY and like what I saw.

Thanks. I've mad a change since this video, I swapped out the fishing line for this cord, just as tough but more flexible: amzn.to/3wnpb8S

I list it in the video, but have since updated the "cord" to this: amzn.to/3XSOIAB , it's much easier to work with, stay tuned for an updated video.

Another advantage is if you carry a large amount of stuff around and your phone likes to slide off the top, while you’re walking, that keeps it off the ground and you can get it back easier. I like the thinking… 👍🏻

If you don't secure the lanyard rope to your hand every time you pick up the phone, won't it just serve as a more easy way for a thief to grab your phone?

maybe, it's funny how quickly slipping on the lanyard is just done automatically, and how many times it has saved my phones...
