Thanks so much! I'd seen similar explanations of the 2.0 method, but they didn't go into as much detail about how the parrying and the shield icons work, so I really appreciate this.
Note that I said the VULTR perk is irrelevant in this fight. It isn't completely irrelevant. It can be helpful actually, since each time you perform a finishing move on his little tiny arms you won't lose any battery power. You only do two finishing moves in the fight overall, but that's still helpful if you've taken a bit of damage and need to heal up!
I didn't have quite as big a problem with the lock-on mechanic. I focused less on blocking and more on dodging, staying in the open area of the arena and away from the walls. Either way, I'm grateful for the guide; happy with my V2.0 weapons!
You can get the V2.0 from him aslong as you just cut of his Claws before killing him so you can do it in what ever order you want. Also you can do him quite easy without having to time blocks by just standing under him which forces him to do a body slam or back legswipe both which are easy to dodge and you can go ham on him. I'd recommend getting the A.I.D Nightfall Helmet since it is the only helmet at that point in the game that gives good bonuses to both Armored and Unarmored Damage. Metamorphing Talons are also great since they have good damage, fast attacks, good energy gain and low stamina consumption but also deal Nano damage which is good against Robotics. Punishing Slashbrand are also good and they will be nice for an encouter just shortly after Johnny aswell.
Hey, have you found your favorite build/setup yet? I honestly haven't. I like using the Jag 9 as my favorite weapon. I played around with Metamorphing Talons but I feel like they are so fast that they're too spammy for my liking (EDIT: After using them for a while, I prefer them. They use a lot less stamina than most other weapons, and that's helpful. Yep, I'm a convert!). I use VULTR armor because none of the other armor I've found yet seems good enough. I tend to block a lot, but it's quite irregular in whether it registers or not. It's not like Sekiro where you can master the timing, at least that I can see. Sometimes you time it perfectly, other times you do the same thing and you get hit. I'm starting to lean towards dodging around, in which case I really want to spec for evade and stamina benefits. Just interested to know what your style of play is, and what you spec for. Cheers!
