so proud - My uncle Thomas John MacDonald is buried in OosterBeck - As a Scottish Paratrooper he was 29 when he was killed in Operation Market Garden. The local Dutch people still keep the graves of the fallen Soldiers tended so well. What a fantastic turnout for the pipes and drums by the people of Arnhem.

I probably watch this video at least once a month! I was 50m down the bridge approach watching the march past. Brought tears to my eyes. 2 Para, the battalion that held the bridge for 4 days, is based in my home town of Colchester UK.

I got back late on September 24th after 10ndays in the low countries to attend commemorations for the 75th anniversary of market garden, as well as to pay my respects to my relative Reg Broome, South Staffordshire regt buried at Oosterbeek.
I was on the bridge to watch this march past. Love the pipes and drums. Notice the vets and the two Chelsea pensions coming up at the rear. Lest we forget!
