Hey Chris, I do enjoy the shorts, but I really want to see what's happening with the flyer. I have been in town (from Utah) twice, and haven't been able to see her. I visited pre pandemic when she was just in frames. Please show more boatworks when you can. Would love to volunteer some time if it could be helpful. All the best to you and the crew!

Hi FNV, I notice, after some 3 months, your comment has had no reply. Nothing. Your generous offer has no response. Utah is a long way from Pt Townsend but I'm sure a decent reply would make the distance.. Perhaps an additional offer to read 'The Purse Sein' could tip the scales for a mannerly reply. Best of luck.

When are going to see some more boat work?

Could be funding issues or labor shortages. These projects do tend to stall when funding has to catch up again, that would be my guess.

@@joesprague1464 If that is the case, why aren't viewers, commenters and subscribers etc told? It would seem there are large numbers of people interested in the build (just look at other like boat-build projects, too) but to abandon that aspect, and its ability to attract funds, and instead switch to an earnest would-be "literary" circle does not make too much sense by itself. What next, a knitting circle for sweaters?
Joe, you might be right but where's the transparency? Give a camera to one of the shipwrights and watch things happen.

@@alexandermenzies9954 I absolutely agree with you, transparency is the best approach. Many times when financing is the issue great lengths are given to the initiator of the project to come up with the monies to get things moving again. It is common for projects of this magnitude to stall while waiting for the bills to be paid. This happens alot in the boat restoration business.I call yards where wooden boat restorations occur frequently like Port Townsend "The Field of Broken Dreams". Walk the yard there and count the number of stalled restorations and abandoned boat projects. Our favorite you tube channel is doing their best to stay viable until the project restarts itself.Scott may not have anymore info than you or I as to when this will occur.

What a lovely poem. Insight and also important childhood memories of helping the local Italian fishermen drag in their nets on days bay beach in Wellington New Zealand.
Just before sundown dragging the nets and dropping the ropes and going down to start pulling in an ancient rhythm afresh. The excitement as the floats on the net appeared and the two lines got closer.
Then the struggling of the fish and then they put the fish into crates. Not a word was said. Their gumboots trampling in a well practiced dance.
Total silence and quiet, something I will never forget. No interchange or acknowledgement of my presence but I always walked away content. Thanks for these shorts they are priceless. Just like my time with the Italian fishermen.

Yikes! That was really appropriate to our times. May we come through these times as better, more humane people. The alternative is too grim to accept passively, without an effort of will and courage.
