In this clip, Tray Deee spoke about being mentioned in Prodigy's memoir. Tray Deee was among Snoop's entourage at the 2nd annual Source Awards, just after Snoop's and Dre's split with Death Row. He said Suge's goons were at the awards with intentions of disrupting Snoop and Dre from accepting an award. However, a stand off commenced between both sides with Tray Deee on the frontline. Mad bad Thoughts I feel the artist Suge had on Death Row made the label what it was, Snoop, Pac, Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg along with Dr Dre producing not to mention the artist that would have joined the Row just to work with Dre. Gangsta rap is still in play and always will be because that's what record labels want, what crashed the label was Suge running it as an extension of the bloods which made artist uncomfortable working there and business execs didn't want to work with Suge under those circumstances.
Robert Berry I believe in that day and age death row had to operate with a reputation so they didn’t get run over by the LA gangs. A very raw street element that the label couldn’t avoid and I think it’s easy for us to speculate in hindsight it seems like it was a simple solution but when you think there is a lot variables that came into play for me to say that it was all suge. But totally agree with the talent they held.
