    Love the video! It's so funny you can't tell you are in Japan all the signs and stuff around you looks like you are somewhere else. The burger looked amazing but it's a little pricey. Thanks for another excellent video!

      @@CriticalEatsJapan come to think of it, I don't think I saw it even once when I lived in Japan... That was 10 years ago so I don't know if it's still rare. I used to know where all the vending machines in my neighborhood were that had the big cans of Mountain Dew lol.

    I've been to Teddy's in Hawaii 3 yrs ago when I went home. It was good. As for the fries, everyone has their own style of fries. It's not necessarily a Hawaiian thing. I myself like crinkle or steak fries! They have endless fries at Red Robin & their burgers are my fave & flamed broiled! It wasn't a cheap burger in Hawaii either! Wish you could have gone to Leonards to have their malasadas! So yummy! The original is my fave! Thanks Paul, 👍❤❤❤

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did go to Leonard's actually! After the burger I met up with Ryan and Taeko and you can see what we got up to in an upcoming video... ;) but after that we ate some of those Hawaiian doughnuts! They were a little sugary for my taste, but so good and fresh!

    I love Teddy's. There used to be two near us, but they closed. For me, it was messy with the avocado, but it was worth it. They had a pumpkin shake around Halloween that was delicious.

      Many times. The cold stone creamery will sing you a song about ice-cream while making your order. The kids love that.
      Never had the burgers at Teddy's because of the price. There is a tempura udon place in the food court which is always really good though.

  • @kettlekorn471

    Nice vid and music. I think maybe the bun is either brioche (has high egg content, so maybe that colors it yellow) or Hawaiian bread bun. I like regular McD type fries, but I don't mind the skin on ones. I often wonder why you film so much in the car, but know I know. Lol. (more controlled environment.)

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wasn't sure if it was some sort of special Hawaiian thing or not, but it was good! I don't mind the skin on fries either, it's just that sometimes they are too thin for my taste... And you are totally correct about the car thing ---particularly when it comes to background music and noise ;)

    Look at all that mustard, cheese and that bun. I'ld be in mustard heaven 'cause it's my favorite condiment. I'ld be dipping my fries in that to. My Mama made the best crinkle cut fries I ever put in my mouth. I like the big, crispy, fat fries you get at a diner or greasy spoon. For some reason they have more flavor and are karikari for sure. It's probably the unhealthy oil they fry it in. That burger though, looks like a 10/10 to me. Thanks for the share and aloha Brudah.

    Good looking burger, glad it was tasty at that price! Not sure what makes those burgers particularly Hawaiian or just that they're from Hawaii... as for fries like that, I can take them or leave them but my preference is more of a regular sized fry.

    • @ZeliardFTW
      @ZeliardFTW 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would assume they have both pepsi and cola at places. Usually restaurants/fast food either go one or the other of course. But Dr pepper is so good, I wish I could find it more in Australia. (Which I can, just too lazy to go looking for it)

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coca Cola is more popular, but there is Pepsi as well. It's often not so easy to just get a straight Pepsi though, usually it is some sort of variant like J-Cola or whatever seasonal flavour they have concocted. KFC has it, and Subway carries only the sugarfree variety called Pepsi Nex... it's pretty bad

    They went all out on the theming of that part of the mall. That price is not much more than what you would pay in Hawaii. Teddy's is expensive. The fries are thin mostly because it's a high end place. They tend to do thin fries because they look fancy. I think I saw a Leonard's in the background. If you ever get a chance go there and get a malasada. Glad you were able to get a Dr Pepper. Maybe they'll carry root beer if you ask them nicely and don't talk smack about them...

      I wasn't sure how much English he understood. When I ordered there was another guy, but he seemed to understand English moderately well... just didn't want to complain about the price with that guy there. As for pineapple, I am sure they had one on the menu but this seemed like their signature burger so I had to get it. Most non-fast food burger places here have some sort of avocado burger on their menus. Next time I'll get something else, and maybe even one of the bigger ones... ;)

    I always rate a restaurant by how good they dress their burgers up and that looked amazing. I used to enjoy the occasional bottle of Dr Pepper before the non-diet variety fell victim to the UK government's sugar purge.

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What is the sugar purge? The government outlawed certain sodas?

    • @joannegray5138
      @joannegray5138 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They've declared sugar as the root of all evil and have forced drinks manufacturers to put Aspartame (the "sweetener" in diet drinks) into non-diet drinks too, totally ruining their flavour. The only two Aspartame -free drinks widely available are Classic Coke and Pepsi, and I don't know how long they'll hold out, even with the myriad of sugar free varieties of the originals being thrust upon the consumer. I do get the dangers of sugar, but considering most drinks out there have diet varieties that are full of artificial "sweeteners" for the diabetics and the health enthusiasts, I just can't understand why the UK Government is so determined to ruin non-diet varieties when the "healthier" options are sold alongside the regular stuff anyway.
