How long will it live for? You said the full grown was about 1.5yrs. How many more years will you get from it? Can you also bring it inside in the winter?
I saw your post today and thought I'd reply. Mind you, I'm no gardening expert, but I have successfully overwintered rosemary a couple of times in my house (I live in central Ohio). I just brought it in late in the fall before we had frost, placed it near a south-facing window (but not in direct sunlight), watered it very sparingly through the winter, and then put it out again when spring came. It did beautifully. I assume you can just do this over and over as long as you have room and the patience for it. Good luck!
Your question depends on what planting zone you are located in. I am in zone 8 (Atlanta, GA area) where rosemary remains evergreen all year round. It loves the direct sunlight and will survive the harsh droughts of the southern USA.
