One Of The Greatest Moves In Chess History!

  • In this famous chess game Siegbert Tarrasch makes one of the best moves in his career! By sacrificing the bishop on c7 square Tarrasch is both using a blockading and at the same time deflecting tactic! The piece sacrifice forces his opponents to resign on the spot!

The tactic used in this video is actually still relatively known, to the point where it has gotten its own name: it's called interference. There are lots of puzzles that use it, but it's hard to find situations on the board that use it and spot it when it is on the board.

I enjoyed the video truly a great game but i had to pause multiple times and figure out why this and not that .... he was just going too fast and skipping over alot of the stuff and then he points out a queen rook battery threatening a mate in 1 move like why did we need that pointed out and not the king move ?

@francis dondiego: then rook take c5 force queen to take rook at c5 and open up white queen to b7, then black only option is moving queen to b6. after that checkmate by white queen taking black queen on b6 (protected by bishop at c7)
