sister acts like this one only come along when God says to himself "self, you gotta have more great harmony down on earth. I'm gonna give Mrs McGuire in Ohio 3 girls that will grow up to give awesome entertainment for the entire world and provide happiness for decades"
Loved parts 1 & 2. They were on Arthur Godfrey's show & really enjoyed all the talent he had, ESPECIALLY the McGuires. Dorothy, the oldest, age 84 just passed away 9-27-12 at her home in Arizona. They had played Vegas for years. Christine & Phyllis still live there.
This "Life Story", which was part of their nightclub act, is from the Ed Sullivan Show in the early 60s (62 or 63), hence their joking about "another" appearance on his show. I read once that they appeared on that show about 30 times, not often enough for me. (jimmy1045)
The McGuires didn't have any TV specials of their own. They were guests on many others, however. They were up for their own series: "Too Many McGuires" which never sold to a network.
Dorothy was not the oldest sister, Christine is. Phyllis is the youngest...Dorothy, age wise, was the middle sister, who usually stood on the right as the trio performed.
My main memory of the McGuire Sisters: "Feel - really refreshed Work and play at your best Enjoy the refreshingest - Pause for a Coke! Ice cold Coca-Cola - Pause...for a Coke!"
They are the best of the best. The harmony is pure and angelic.....
YES ... these ladies sang like the angels ....the McGuire Sisters were some angels from the heaven ... sweet voices forever¡¡¡

They were the best of the sister trios.........
Pure talent!
First time I heard these girls was in a church in Anderson, Indiana where they went college. You are right about God with this group.
These babes look great in white! And their harmony is tight!

Dorothy wasn't the oldest sister...she was the one in the middle (age wise). Christine was the oldest, while Phyllis was the youngest.
I wonder what show this was aired on. Did they have their own specials back in the 50's?
@TheJuicyfruitx "Side by Side".

Perhaps not, dangraphic, but you are most like the only one dumb enough to think they were triplets!
