Modern numerology often contains aspects of a variety of ancient cultures and teachers, including Babylonia, Pythagoras and his followers (Greece, 6th century B.C.), astrological philosophy from Hellenistic Alexandria, early Christian mysticism, early Gnostics, the Hebrew system of the Kabbalah, The Indian Vedas, the Chinese "Circle of the Dead", Egyptian "Book of the Masters of the Secret House" (Ritual of the Dead).[4]
Pythagoras and other philosophers of the time believed that because mathematical concepts were more "practical" (easier to regulate and classify) than physical ones, they had greater actuality. St. Augustine of Hippo (A.D. 354--430) wrote "Numbers are the Universal language offered by the deity to humans as confirmation of the truth." Similar to Pythagoras, he too believed that everything had numerical relationships and it was up to the mind to seek and investigate the secrets of these relationships or have them revealed by divine grace. See Numerology and the Church Fathers for early Christian views. However, that does not mean that Pythagoras had coined himself the system one calls numerology. Pythagoras had only paved the way to the observation of numbers as archetypes rather than mere numerals.
In 325 A.D., following the First Council of Nicaea, departures from the beliefs of the state Church were classified as civil violations within the Roman Empire. Numerology had not found favor with the Christian authority of the day and was assigned to the field of unapproved beliefs along with astrology and other forms of divination and "magic".[citation needed] Despite this religious purging, the spiritual significance assigned to the heretofore "sacred" numbers had not disappeared; several numbers, such as the "Jesus number" have been commented and analyzed by Dorotheus of Gaza and numerology still is used at least in conservative Greek Orthodox circles.[5][6] Numerology is prominent throughout Sir Thomas Browne's 1658 literary Discourse The Garden of Cyrus. Throughout its pages the author attempts to demonstrate that the number five and the related Quincunx pattern can be found throughout the arts, in design, and in nature - particularly botany.
Modern numerology has various antecedents. Ruth A. Drayer's book, Numerology, The Power in Numbers (Square One Publishers) says that around the turn of the century (from 1800 to 1900 A.D.) Mrs. L. Dow Balliett combined Pythagoras' work with Biblical reference. Then on Oct 23, 1972, Balliett's student, Dr. Juno Jordan, changed Numerology further and helped it to become the system known today under the title "Pythagorean", although Pythagoras himself had nothing to do with the system.

I am a seven by far from my birthdate but I try to be social, positive, outgoing, help people, and have a balance in my life. I think 7's can be very social once they feel comfortable, but they definitely need time alone.
I even warned friends not to take it personal when I want to have personal time to myself. Some understand and some never understood why but now I see why. Alone time helps us just deal with life. I can't be under people 24-7.

Not entirely agree here, 7 indeed is a private, independent person, but socially many times can come as a funny, charming person (look at Seinfeld), through his mental abilities. He knows to compose himself. Indeed he's isolated, but knows how to act in public, and in front of large groups, but never too personal with too many people.

I'm a 7 with a 7 and it's going really well, I get very lonely for other reasons and I like talking to people but I find it so exhausting, I go through huge periods of time where I love being alone. I feel like no one understands me and I back out of a lot of plans, I open up and become social with very close friends that I'm comfortable with. When I'm at school or a work environment (or if I'm with a bigger group of friends) I tend to sit back and observe rather than be part of it, unless someone goes out of their way to include me or asks me a question. I'm very artistic but I also love science and learning about the universe

im a very social 7 but i always knew something was off. Quarantine has changed my life for the better and now i know im an excellent introvert. Also, by listening to the vocations i just wanted to add that architects are literally film makers+writers. We are the observers and architecture bases itself from observing our surroundings and coming up with ways to create a better living. Architecture is a great option for 7ths.

Ik this is old, lol but im a 7 to and had this problem earlier in life in my teens, I hated being alone, what will change your perspective is when people leave you or situations happend that put you in isolation. You’ll then learn and be taught to fully relly on yourself and sadly you’ll get used to it. People paint us 7’s as bad but really were basically the perfect people if that makes sense.

Alot is true, i always wondered why I dont like to call people up for drinks unless I am close to them,I am quite happy to be alone in my room researching everything and everything however I am not a painter or scientist or any of those things. Just a curious individual once given a particular subject I look up everything to do with it and am usually the one out of my friends to find information they could never find :)

I am a Life path 7 and in the last two years, I have really learned and gained a lot about myself. If, like me you have 16/7 - Don't give up ever on love for yourself and humanity. It is our life karma as we push love away when pain shows up or we abuse love. Our life purpose from my understanding is to love yourself and never stop giving love to those you cherish. I noticed a lot of life path 7's tend to end up divorced, unmarried or alone and I can assure you that will end up in depression. Life is yin/yang - BALANCE, our biggest hurdle is balancing solitude and reality. I can’t even put into words how happy I am to have found your channel. I am a ♓️ (2/25)☀️/ ♏️ 🌚 Life Path/ Karmic 1/7. I can’t relate to a lot of the ego side of the Life Path because it’s completely opposite of who I am. However, having a Karmic number 7, is a lifelong battle with family, friends, co-workers etc. Being a Life Path 1, I have to deal with A LOT of people coming to me for guidance. I’m oftentimes the chosen leader…smh They don’t understand it is innate and I NEED my space. I’m a nurse, recently started my own business and I’m going through a spiritual awakening. I know a 7 that was both artistic and studious. But he had a life path of 7 and a birth day number of 6 and a name number of 50/5. This combination caused him to excel in his studies straight from school, with great concentration. Although, he got accepted into a University, but he turned it down. His birthday number of 6 caused him to get into artistic ventures.

I am a 7, I do observe people a lot, well all the time and I am a writer too. I am very committed to my partners but I also need my space a lot. I do have a problem with people telling me what to do. I am a different type of 7 then because I’m studying to be a psychologist, I don’t know whether I’ll choose clinical or research but I like both and I also want to keep pursuing writing and photography - I had an issue with picking both because both are really close to my heart but I figured I could do everything. Mainly, psych and writing - psych will inspire my writing and I love that.
I'm 7 and love to be alone however I love conversations and talking with level headed people. I like being around people but in dosages. Some used to tell me I am selfish but I never looked at it like that..I try to explain to them once I knew me more why I love to be alone and it don't seem to fly. So i don't bother. I do what makes me happy.

I never have to try to get fired. They fire me because I don’t talk or I just walk out.
I’m a 7, so is my partner. We have been together 7 yrs ago now. To begin with our relationship faced so many obstacles because neither of us knew about our 7 life path number. Once we understood one another’s need for space, and discovered life path number it made sense. We passed the test. You can have a strong loving connection with another 7, like any relationship it takes work, compromise, patience & understanding one another. You’re not wrong about a 7/7 match, it’s just requires work within each 7, to be in tune and understand each other’s need for space to refill. We are both encouraging of one another’s need to fill our cup. It may sound weird but we sit in different parts of the house from one another when we feel the need to be alone. We pop in to one another’s space briefly in stages throughout our recharge time out. It’s completely normal, healthy it’s just how we 7’s are.

Very accurate! I will say that I am an extroverted introvert. I do love chatting with people, but mostly (I know it sounds stubborn), on my own terms. I really just prefer to be by myself most of the time. I love to think, be with myself, observe the world around me, and privately enjoy all of the things I do. I do love to make connections and I do like to initiate conversation and stand out sometimes. I am charismatic and have a good sense of humor, and carry a conversation well, but at the end of the day, I would rather stay in by myself, go for walks by myself, shop by myself, eat out or in by myself, and I don't like having people over at my house (unless it's my family). I only have a very few limited actual close friends that understand all of this about me and accept it while still being able to be my best friend and being a best friend to them. As much as I love to socialize, make connections, etc., I only love it so much and it's quite exhausting after a certain amount of time and I have to make up for it by spending days, or weeks just with myself.
I also am spiritual, artistic, and excellent writer, observant, the list goes on, I have many talents and a ton of knowledge. But at the end of the day, writing creatively, and my artistic and spirituality is more personal for me and more of a hobby. I do not want a career with these skills. I also thoroughly enjoy math, science, but especially research. I research all the time, for fun and for school, and enjoy all of it, and putting my findings into words. I am currently trying get into STEM and hopefully work in academia, because to me, there would be nothing better than doing math and science, and research quietly, and most of the time, and occasionally collaborating with others who want to do the same. I studied justice for 2 years, and while it is such an important career, it is too social and emotional for me. There is nothing wrong with that, but I would not doing well having to be constantly open, social, vulnerable, yet guarded as a career. I would much rather sit in an office and focus on research that intrigues me on a scheduled time, and on my own time.

I am creative, always researching, I am a self employed business owner. I love writing. I have written and published my first of many books. I have written, directed and produced a play. I have written scripts. I love to observe. I can take the smallest observations and write something great, hilarious, or dramatic, something that people can relate to. I am also that go to person...people tend to come to me for answers.. I consider myself a counselor by life experiences. And most importantly certainly not the least i am very spiritual. And alot of time intuitive. People tell me they love my spirit I've come to realize they are drawn to my spirit and it has nothing to do with me. Even though I'm not where i want to be I'm am so glad my spirit guide lead me to this channel. And now i know i am on the right path.
Seven over here. Self employed (1/2 check), spiritual (1/2 check) and most the things you mentioned. I love to be social and seeing familiar faces but I enjoy my solitude in most cases like going to yoga class, working alone and other things.
Although, I must say two of my closest friends are 7's and I feel that they understand me on a different level, and they do not need to walk on egg shells around me. We would have months spending time with each other but also months apart and when we see each other again it's like nothing changed.

My son is a 7, he is a very sensitive, artistic and yes definitely a great writer. He has a beautiful heart and soul. I’m introverted so it doesn’t bother me that he likes to be alone, I understand him, I’m a life path number 2, I can nurture and respect who he is.
My husband is a 7 and is in his lower vibration, I don’t think he understands spirituality but he’s very driven, hard working and successful in my opinion. Yes I do think he’s selfish but I think sometimes you have to put yourself first. The funny thing is my husband and my son are both 7 and they don’t get along. They are both fire signs.
