Thats cool that you guys visited Cuentepec. My grandma was born and raised there. She and my other grandma were the last in our family to speak Nahuatl. I last visited Morelos back in 2013.
Yeah I was so excited when I read about it and had to check it out to see that living connection to Mexicos ancient history. A really incredible experience
@@rob1014 my dad grew up and was raised in Miacatlan, about 30 minutes away from Cuentepec. Apparently in Nahuatl Miacatlan means "place of abundant reeds for arrows"
Bien venidos a México un orgullo para nosotros que aprecien ustedes a nuestros pueblos indígenas ellos son nuestro orgullo viviente nuestro origen como mexicanos
Yeah we were very happy to be able to experience the village and meet a couple people who were able to explain a little to us. Mexico is easily one of my favorite places to visit
I just went to Cuentepec yesterday by bike, and it was a surreal experience to hear everyone speaking Nahuatl! I found everyone to be super nice, but in smaller communities like that they might not immediately trust outsiders to film them.
Yeah definitely understandable! Yeah we loved visiting looking forward to similar stuff in the future hopefully! Still one of my personal favorite places to see in Mexico because how different it is
Yo soy de ahí de cuentepec Morelos ahorita andamos trabajando a qui en Orondo Washington saludos mi hermano que buen video saludos a mi gente tan linda de cuentepec
My mom was born there but moved to Yautepec. I haven’t been there but I’ll be going next year since I’m buying my wedding dress in Mexico City . I think that trip will do me good so I can learn my culture and maybe learn some náhuatl
It's not "Na-WADDLE", its "NA-what(l)", that's why people didn't understand what you were asking about at first. In macehualtin inglestlahtolme amo itlahtol in nahuatlahtolli cualli.

I know there is a lot of unique things about Mexico and its history. Thank you for this video, sirs.
Yes it was so crazy finding a community that spoke the pre colonial Aztec language!

You definitely should! I bet if someone set up a class to teach Nahuatl in LA they could make a lot of money because of the huge diaspora
Ya fueron alas tirolesas de ayi de mi pueblo cuentepec?
No we didn’t do the zip lining unfortunately but we saw the place and talked to the people there
