Just watched this video while setting this up in the org. I kicked it off for a few hundred and plan on pushing the rest after Patch Tuesday. Great video. Oh, and YES, user-based targeting would be FANTASTIC.

One of my favorite episodes so far. Adam 2 did a great job explaining the system, process, and reasoning.

Love watching Adam going all in on the group names, When is first not first, when its second as test it first. Happy to see you two speaking what we're all thinking about Autopatch though. If you're a new smaller business, go for Autopatch, but if I can't see any real benefit for moving existing WUfB to this right now.

1:01:15 you're wrong, I did make it this far and I've just reported Adam to Microsoft for forgetting about Servicing profiles!

It's great to hear at the end that there is discussion about targeting users instead of devices, but I still missed the targeting of servers instead of clients. That's also something that is on my, and I think many people's wish list.

WSUS being solid is something I would never expect to hear in the same sentence.

“Building tools that help organizations achieve more with less”… “Not available for Education A3 / A5”… I really feel like you completely missed the target market here. We (in Education) have been dealing with severely understaffed departments and limited budgets for years now and have massive deployments of student 1:1 laptops that struggle to get any updates pushed to them. Please bring this to A3/A5. We need it!

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah. I totally agree! 👍

So true. Not like we're expecting it for free, A3/A5 does not come cheap.

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@mburland I expect it for free for A5 and for A3 with subscription. But who knows :D

I'm guessing the same is true for G3 & G5 (GCC Licensing), such a bummer.

I'm trying to give this a fair shake, but can't help conclude that this should be called Microsoft Wheel 2.0

So Adam & Steve - what are your thoughts on how MSPs might leverage Windows AutoPatch? DSC or SimeonCloud for managing these configurations across multiple tenants? Reporting - we wont go there, but with Defender being all the rage right now I forsee lots of MSPs looking at this new shiny thing as well and wondering how they can use it.

Awesome video. Very informative. Any chance you'll be doing some more Intune videos around macOS, like updates? Been awhile since you've done any focus on the macOS stuff.

The only thing i dont like the sound of is the automatic rings.. sure we can move them round and so on.. but new devices get automatically assigned to a random group. I dont think we would want to lose that control

Does adding a release for Windows 11 23H2 feature update enable all assigned windows 10 devices to upgrade?

Adam's a bit salty today. 🤣 Can't blame him for not wanting to hear the marketing fluff or for complaining about the Intune nickel and diming cash grab.

I don’t mind being a shill for things that I believe are good values but I also won’t turn away from fighting for better values for other products where it makes sense. And yeah, I’m still bitter about Quick Assist/Remote Help.

Could you make a video about the replacement of Intune WIP for Windows (without enrollment)? With DLP i can indeed label my corporate data, so Onedrive and Sharepoint is covert. But i cannot remove a OST file of a BYOD devices when the user leaves the organization. Or prevent copying corporate data to a local C: or USB drive.

Hold up, if I see the Autopatch tenant enrolment page does that mean I am entitled to it!?

When testing Windows Autopatch, we get a reboot during ESP. From the eventlog: The following URI has triggered a reboot: (./Device/Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/Update/ManagePreviewBuilds).
This breaks our passwordless setup, as a reboot during ESP triggers the user to re-authenticate (with their password!) before reaching WhfB setup. I guess MS is all for promoting passwordless, so why add stuff that breaks it?

Which OS version build was this on? It's definitely something that shouldn't be occurring and is something that we would want to get fixed
