You didn't get the point of the lecture?
It was all about him telling you how brilliant, cool, quirky and special he is.
I thought that was quite clear.
    Yay Maeda-san!

I search for bing chat enterprise, and John Meada is the second search result! Now in July 2023 , he is a vice president at Microsoft, and I’m so amazed at Microsoft’s choice to hire such great talent!!! Generative AI input/prompt is the ultimate simplicity!!! You don’t need to learn anything to input onto the prompts: just use you everyday language, any language, not just English. Complexity is well hidden!

i think it is a very good comparison between simple&complex and how to define it. And pointed out things that we cant easyly see or dont care when we see.

I was thinking about this topic the other day. Glad to find a TEDtalk on it.

Not groundbreaking like some TED talks, but still very enjoyable.

The main thought i fixed from here is:
"Life is to enjoy more and have pain less"
I could even say that all about simplicity & complexity, will remeber that form of though,

the problem is in definition of complexity and simplicity and their relationship. I would say that even complex ideas are actually very simple from a certain point of view. One does not need to treat these as opposites.

Behind all the simple functions, services and devices, there is alot of complexity, the point it is to hide the complexity to dont overburn the brain of the standard user. Talking about operating systems, that is one thing that I never understanded about Linux and why they taken so long to make it simple to the standard users, I started to using it since 1996 and all that nerdy things like writing a long command lines just to read a floppy disk was frustrating, when in other hand in MSDOS you just type A: and and it is done.

    Isn't simplicity relative?

Tony Swaby Yes. He says its relative on his book.

I take it you must be new to TED if you haven't learned to skip the intro and stop it before the BMW ad comes up...
