    Lelouch is both the hero and the villain of the series, he is both an idealist and a cynic, he acts the most rational as well as the most emotional. How fitting that in the end he is both dead and alive.

      H. Sch. Very well said. It was pretty obvious that Lelouch lived as you just stated. With that being said, it's funny that a lot of people stiol believe that he got killed by Suzaku and that was the end of him.

      Surprisingly enough, there are people on the Internet that will have a practically nuclear meltdown if you try and argue that Lelouch's is alive. I mean, people can believe what they want, but the arguments can get nasty.
      Personally, though, I believe he's alive.

      code geass has tons of moments with foreshadowing and double meanings, and hidden meanings, and all that stuff. ever since a few moments prior to charles death, lelouch and the story itself has hinted at lelouch stealing code from charles
      the most notable of which is the final scene with cc on the carriage, the second most notable is lelouch using a code only power to show his memories to nunally when he was about to die, and the third most notable was his conversation with suzaku when he instructed him about the entirety of zero requium
      there are many more points which prove that zero has code, but those 3 are the biggest ones, if you can understand the fancy talk that is damn confusing in code geass

    • @zubhanwc3
      @zubhanwc3 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      there was never any proof of there only being 2 codes. If anything, there might even be ways for a fully activated geass to transcend and become a code, but we don't know

      BTDKING incorrect. Lelouch's mom had a Geass that allowed her consciousness to go Into that of another which is why she was part of the pink haired girl and why that girl had no memory. But when She was erased the girl never got her memorys back until Jeremiah used his Geass canceler. Hell as far as we know that one girl still draws a tally on the schools wall every day.

    There's a few cases where he clearly anticipated the jist of what Schiezel would say, but I love how Lelouch mostly just bullshitted philosophically in a way that let him guide the "conversation" the way he wanted it. Well aware I am responding to a 2 year old comment, but I just need to say my piece. Schnizel was indeed a difficult enemy but I wouldn't say he was Lelouch's toughest enemy as he was ultimately able to defeat him. No, that honor would go to Euphie who, at the end of the day, Lelouch ultimately lost to. Lelouch was a mastermind who had everything under control 9/10 out of ten, but the SAZ massacre was a complete accident which was made only after Lelouch had conceded and Euphie had dropped her guard. If geass were not involved, the entire rebellion would have been quashed by Euphie's act of passivism.

    I don't find the words be what's impossible here. All Lelouch had to do was predict his way of thinking, and make an occasional response to a list of things Schneizel could say. Such as when Lelouch said "Schneizel.. You truly are superior." There's a whole LIST of things Schneizel could've said before Lelouch said that, and that response from Lelouch would fit perfectly. A mock conversation like this wouldn't be hard to pull off. However.. Lelouch's timing.. Can't argue that is impossible

      Two hyperintelligent teenage boys (with powerful fathers) living in Japan receive a supernatural power from a near-immortal being with an affinity with one particular type of food. The power they receive allows them to kill or control anyone under certain conditions, and they use it to attempt to bring peace to the world while also temporarily taking it over themselves. In their mission they assemble a loyal squad of subordinates including a super-hot girl with a unique and highly useful ability, and a representative to act as a halfway point between themselves and the rest of the world. Unfortunately their mission almost ends before it begins as they lose their memories, and the goals and ambitions that came with them. Luckily he regains his memories and reassembles his squad just in time to get back on track. While all this is happening they must also hide their identity and maintain an anonymous persona, however in the end everyone finds out who they really are, and shortly after they die.

    For those that are saying that the geass would have stopped after Lelouch had died. Even with his memory lost and after his death, the girl he used his geass on to mark the wall was still doing it. You can look it up but I read somewhere where the girl had been moved to Britannia and would try to go back to make the cross marks on the wall everyday. She eventually had to be admitted into psychiatric care.

    I think that in this scene Lelouch states the central message of the show. Charles, Lelouch, and Schneizel all want the same thing, an end to war and discrimination. But while Charles and Schneizel believe that this can be accomplished by force, Lelouch believes that people can attain peace on their own. Because although they might fail time and time again, though it my take ages, people will continue to strive towards happiness, and eventually they will build a better world. As martin luther king said, "the moral arc of the universe is long but bends towards justice"

  • @Redpoppy80
    @Redpoppy80 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Something that gets overshadowed by everything else is just how much of a master Lelouch is at profiling people both individuals and societies. He was only able to build the Black Knights because he knew who he could trust, who needs corrosion and what motivates his targets. Dietard for example was someone who is clearly unstable but because Lelouch knows what made Dietard tick he was easy to leash. You very rarely see such masterful emotional manipulation out of a non-villain it goes against the concept of freedom that the heroes fight for. Someone I could compare Lelouch to would be Palpatine from Star Wars for just how many steps ahead of the game they are compared to everyone else. It is a blast to watch.

    Lelouche's choice of words are believable in this scene, but the problem is with timing. In one or two instances they did show lelouche taking a pause, but it was'nt exemplified enough, except for one pause. They also tried to show him cutting off Snizel, but not really. If perhaps the creators had worked on this scene a bit more to work with the timing, it would have turned this scene into a true cherry on top brilliance of showing off lelouche's intelligence one last time. my guess is that Lelouch knew him well enough what his thoughts were, but wouldn't know the exact words he'd choose, so he had to appropriate his responses to be just detailed enough where they could be seen as believable responses to Schneizel's to sell the illusion Lelouch was there and what's a nice detail is that this was built up to since their Chess match when he was Zero, at the time he wasn't ready to face and beat his brother, now he's managed to out play him and stay ahead enough for him to pull this kind of maneuver.

    It's a curious thing to consider about this scene. Lelouch took Shnizel (King), but only once he'd secured and disarmed Nanaly (Queen) did he achieve checkmate.

    This is one of the scene which was like too over the top. Like predicting everything, that's just impossible, so I just took it as some magic trick in circus to feel satisfied😊😊

      Nah, pay attention to Lelouch's responses and he's basically just rambling facts towards Schneizel. He didn't really need to anticipate his responses, but rather the way he thinks, and Lelouch already knows what type of person Schneizel is as his brother, so that wouldn't be hard for someone of the former's intelligence.
      The anticipation of Schneizel's responses don't have to be on the dot, it's just a general thing. You can even see where Lelouch changes the subjects a few times like how he guilt tripped Schneizel for being a prince and looking down on people. So at the end of the day, Schneizel's responses didn't matter because the conversation would be continued regardless, for just enough time to sneak up on him.
      It's the timing that was a little over the top, not the response anticipation. Some of the timings are possible if you guess how long it'd take to respond depending on the question/statement, but theres about one or two timings that's a little crazy to guess. Maybe Lelouch just didn't care if Schneizel interrupted him since the conversation wouldn't be that long; by the time Schneizel got suspicious of the interruptions, Lelouch would've already gotten to him.

    Would've maybe been cooler if they had drawn out more the strategic battle between Lelouch and Schniezel since that was really interesting... Anyway, still great....

    anybody else realize that schniezel had the exact same ideology as Pein from Naruto

      +Jordan Pasley That's because Troy Baker voices them both. Matthew Mercer voices Pain in the Rock Lee spinoff, but Troy voices Pain in Shippuuden.

      +Teron The Gorefiend well I didn't know that but I what I meant was that pain wanted to use the tailed beadts as a deterrent for people to not do bad things. schniezel had the same plan but with the damocles(fleija warheads)

      Also Obito wanted to cast a genjutsu to all people on earth is basically what Charles wanted to do with his ragnarok connection. And lelouch becoming the symbol of hatred is what sasuke was planning to do at the end when he wanted to become hokage !

      TheMegaUzumaki Yeah got your point but just wanted to say the similarities are that in a sense when sasuke wanted to become hokage, not one choosen and acknowleged by his people but a dictator who can get his hand dirten and get rid of previous society (stop the system of hokage by starting a revolution)... it had me remember lelouch, dedicating his own life in a extreme way for their perception of a good world. Not sure i am clear but anyways, sasuke dont reach a level of characterisation like lelouch
