Iberian Itinerary: Spain & Portugal for 2 Weeks

- Heading to Europe & Looking for a Good Two Week Trip Around Spain & Portugal? Well we have our recommended ten day to two week trip around Iberia.
Start in Barcelona, then head to Madrid with a day trip to either Segovia or Toledo, then head to Sevilla/Seville with a day trip to Cordoba and then head over to the beaches of The Algarve in the South of Portugal and then head up to amazing Lisbon and finish off with some Port Wine in Porto. We hope this helps!

My wife and my sister are in Barcelona right now... then they are heading up to Carcassonne before heading home... as for Sintra and Lisbon... loved them both. Spent two weeks exploring that region.

When you are into running Monte Gordo at the Algarve is a fantastic place in winter. Many professional runners spend their winter there, because it has super running paths in the forest, a stadium and good afordable hotels. I've been there in January twice and had allways a great time!
youre completly right, BCN/Barcelona its a perfect trip for 2 or 3 days...I live here and all my friends spend just this time to explore the city...
Perfect itinerary! I did something similar to what you said, starting out in Barcelona and ending with Porto. One of my favorite trips in Europe by far. Love your video, Mark!

this is a super helpful video very informative and perfectly planned itinerary. though i love all your videos and find them very helpful this has to be my favourite.. it would be great if you would make more itineraries like this for all over the world as it is so difficult to plan for new places:) last year i went to Barcelona and Madrid but had no idea that i could plan this way and visit so many other cool places... thanks ..
I’m doing this next week, except in reverse! Originally booked for 12 days, but wanted to throw in extra days for day trips so made it 3 weeks.
Lisbon/Sintra/Evora: 4 days
Porto/Duoro Valley/Aveiro: 4 days
Algarve: 2 days
Seville/Granada/Cordoba/Ronda: 4 days
Madrid/Toledo/Segovia: 3 days

Hey Mark awesome video! Great info on Portugal, I can definitely tell you know your stuff. Portugal is an amazing place from north to south, there are many different things to try usually cheap and since it's not a very big country travelling isnt as much of a pain. I'm from a town near Coimbra called Mealhada, if you're ever around here you must try Leitão! People from all over Portugal come here to eat it, it's delicious. Also I'm planning on going to Toronto this summer, any tips on that? Greetings and good trips!
bring a jacket if you go to the mosque-cathedral of Cordoba it gets really cold inside.

+Jocelyn Wolters Aw. Missed it by that much. Checked G Maps and the closest I got was Pastelaria 1800 at Rato Metro stop. I wish I could say I explored your area (I've read it's v.cool and that's what I do) but I walked south east back towards Jardim Botanico da Universidade. 😬
If you're in Madrid, you can take a day or 2 trip to Valencia, its only 1hr40 with AVE train from Madrid.
Would love to visit, just for the food. Would walk around the city, visit the Cathedral & beach. Would take the train, definitively.
Hi mark im off to porto again in 6 weeks time. I can't wait. I'm thinking about going to braga and ponte de Lima for a day trip if I can figure out how to get there.
Gary Robinson Go to Guimarães as well. If you can't travel to 3 places, choose Guimarães instead of Ponte de Lima. Believe me when I say Guimarães it's worth it.. You could visit my town: Vizela, that is 10km away from Guimarães.. :)

+Christian Gonzalez either day trip is good. Segovia might be easier because it's three main sights so easier to do. And both Jocelyn and I are doing separate Netherlands trips this summer :)

WoW, a trip like that would be awesome. You could also go to Salamanca or Galica to save some time since Andalusia is not a small region with a Lot of things to see. Just like the sizes and the sights of Austria :-)

And, if you want to extend the trip a little longer, from Porto, i would suggest visiting Guimarães and Braga. From there, go up to Santiago de Compostela...

Oktay Ikiz I've been to A Coruna and to Vigo a few years back. And yes, I suppose. In my opinion, one must visit all he can. Historicly, I don't know A Coruna that well. But still, it's allways nice to visit new places.

I think you will only need an afternoon for Gibraltar since it's very small.
Visit Lisbon instead of Gibraltar, it's far more beautiful and interesting.

Yup i love Francesinhas, the only prb with them is, after you eat one you will sweat like a pig trapped inside a green house in the middle of the summer, but its worth it.

I can tell of three hostels that I know of. One in Lisbon - New Lisbon Hub Hostel. One in Sintra - Niceway Sintra Palace and one in Cascais - Niceway.

No, in portugal, we speak portuguese, spanish (castilian) is a language derived from the same origin, but it's from other part of the peninsula (from castille), that than expanded for almost all peninsula (to today's spanish territorie, so portugal is not included), with the conquer, or alliance with the other peninsular kingdoms, but portugal.

Elinars I'm orginally from New Zealand. It's a nice country to visit but it's very expensive. Especially if you wanna go shopping. It's a very long flight to get there too hence why everything is so expensive.
