- Johor is aiming to be Malaysia's economic powerhouse by 2030. The state's chief minister Onn Hafiz spoke in an exclusive interview with CNA's Afifah Ariffin. He told her how the development of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone aligns with the state's economic goals.
I hope johor improves its public transportation services
In negotiation
Surely no more Najib or 1MDB type of scandals?😅
I hope CNA can tell him to clean the environment, to tell people not to throw rubbish everywhere, to make roads smooth without potholes, to make an efficient public transports, to encourage people speak more english. And you don't even need to talk about economic powerhouse, Johor will become one automatically.
Johor doesn't need to become another Singapore.
Mau makan laksa johor? Sangat sedap!
@@CHANJC9687 these are all basic living conditions. what is wrong with you?
in yr dreams.. in 6 yrs jb will still b just ghost town, hookers n druggies..until 4 c r eliminated m'sia will just b a kumpong.. selling nasi lemat ..AI-DEEPSEEK-r ignorant 2 m'sians
@@CHANJC9687so what if Johor becomes another Singapore?? That's great for Johor and Johorean. I, as Johorean, have no problem with that... Why are you triggered if Johor becomes another Singapore?
Powerhouse by 2030 ? , just in 5 years time if JB can get their LRT or ART infrastructure (implementation plan only ) right would be a great achievement.
The public transport from the LRT station to the Special Economic Zone should be ready to assure Singaporeans there is no need to drive up to the SEZ. They need only to take the LRT and then the buses to the SEZ! That would be most helpful!
How long to plan and implement huh ? timeline ? Does Johore have autonomous governance to proceed or wait long long for Fed to debate in parliament to deliver a bill
Just need to deliver the RTS on or ahead of time. Forget about HSR and other big talk projects. Deliver the basics first.
johor paid so much tax to the centre government but get back so little from them
Merepek ape kau... Johor negeri paling diberi bantuan kat Malaysia ni... Banding dgn negeri lain Johor dah macam anal emas dah...
Agreed
water to Singapore charge at $100/litre, Singapore will still buy. You are welcome~
Bottle water at 1 dollar per liter, why buy at 100 dollar / liter from Johore?.
What math are you at?, powerhouse maths?.
Wasted so much time. What took Johore so long to build up this will and wish? Anyway the chance of success is very high if people want it hard enough. Dont mind the naysayers.
Trumponomics
This fella better not be a typical Malaysian politician--talk big but seldom deliver.
Johor leaders seem to be a different breed.
And the Johor royalty does inspections and gives feedback to the state government to improve any shortcomings.
As for other states and federally- its a different story
We shall see if another roti prata episode rears its head again. Malaysia is notorius for flip flop policies overpromising and under deliver.
my cat says
With SG next doors, Jaybee boleh! Letsgo!

Klang valley has 4 named City councils: KL, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya & Klang. Has huge competitive advantage in S.E.A
Stop the crimes in skudai, mount austin, pandan, taman pelangi, muar and kluang first 😂😂😂
JADE CORRUPTION Galore 🤭🤴
What crimes?
Targets are easy to set..achieving them is another thing.
Msian politicians are known to make claims..😮😢
I think you need 6 Bridges to cross between Johor and Singapore. 3 is inadequate.
I must say, look at the cars in JB vs KL, JB car bigger.
Klang Valley GDP is US$200bn, whole Johor is US$40bn max
@leealex24 I see the car on the road another thing. The average car on the road in JB more expensive than KL.
@@thecommentatorofreallynoth9966 Well, there are plenty of luxury cars including EV in Klang Valley too, maybe you went to some rural suburbs. Try going to bukit bintang, damansara, KLCC, mont kiara and bangsar.
@@thecommentatorofreallynoth9966 Btw, many people now buy EV's, less ICE even though they have money.
@@thecommentatorofreallynoth9966 About 70% of luxury cars sold in Malaysia are in Klang Valley. These are facts not, simply eye see.
Singaporeans better wake up. Soon, Johore will outshine Singapore. More talented Singaporeans might have to migrate to other countries.
migrate to experience the crime and violence out there? awesome
Other than geographical and ethnic race composition, JB and Singapore are very familiar for citizen on both country. Upfront clear benefit will b for SG company to run at a lower cost while still having headquarter in SG(This prevent SME from moving out of SG into Malaysia for lower cost). For Malaysia, more malaysian will be able to get employment at the zone at better wages(assuming it pays SGD). For Singaporean, it might be worst off as company would prefer to employ cheaper Malaysian(company may not need to pay foreign levy when operating in this zone). For Malaysia companies unless they want the expertise of Singaporean, else they may not prefer the competition. Again this is pro business and anti employment policy for SG, but pro employment and anti business for Malaysia. As for MNC coming into this zone, they can enjoy cheaper labour, SG infra-structure, and SG branding. Their PMET employment will likely keep in their own country races.
Hello everyone 🎉
Need to work lah.
Cannot always lazy and hoping to cuti cuti.
Very easy for Johor. Just emulate Singapore's perseverance and discipline.
Please please avoid the East coasts mentality. All depend on the Almighty to do the hard work.
hahaha….Johor, if your neighbourhood is 3rd world…you wont go anywhere…even bicycle…SG failed to produce and export for decades 😂 now you’re hoping for high-end products? 😂
If johor is powerhouse,
Then KL is ...¿
If KL is powerhouse
Then johor is ...¿
If Penang is powerhouse
Then KL and johor is ...¿
If Ipoh is powerhouse
Then ...¿?
johor relies very much on s'pore for its economy.
Malaysia always "Boleh"🤭
Michelle Yeoh should be watching this
Why Michelle Yeoh? What she said recently?
