Thank you for explaining exactly what stability meant. I'm on my second pair of 860's because being over 300Lbs I tend to crush the living daylights out of them rather quickly. But I absolutely hate that apparently my feet when walking must roll to the outside because that's where its crushed the most and if I don't replace my shoes in time I get calluses on the right sides of my feet until I get a new pair. The 880's and up tend to be too soft of a sole for me though. The 857's were like walking on concrete they were so hard.
Oh this was really informative. I went in to NB and was suggested the 840, but now looking that the 860 has better stability, I think I should go for that model. I walk with a cane and there are times when I need help with stability in my shoes.
I ran in some 840v4’s and then I tried some saucony Omni20’s and I would confidently say that the less stability on the 840’s worked better for me than the high stability of the Omni 20
I have the same shoes and use them for my everyday walking shoes. They are fantastic and I am sure you will love them. Thank you for watching and for your comments
Is the 840 still made? I do need a neutral shoe and be able to add my custom orthotic. I am a walker, weigh 220 at 6'1", 4-5 miles daily (cannot run any morew due to back surgeries). I am also an under pronator; heel strike and then roll outside have neuropathy in one leg and foot which make my left foot pressure point in the shoe right under my lateral patella. I wear out 840's rather quickly...maybe every 5 months. New, the shoe fits great...no complaints...love it. But is there something that may have a bit more dense forfoot structure that I woulkdnt wear out so fast yet not give up comfort? Thanks

Great review, thank you. The 840 is getting hard to find and I'm not crazy about the replacement 840f.
This was extremely helpful, thank you!

I've put a 100 miles in my 840v4 in the past few months. Curious to hear a long term review on the new 840v5.
Thanks for the video! This really helped me decide between the two models for my needs.
Glad you liked the video Eric, what did you decide on?
I'm glad I waited for the 860 V12. 🤣
I found and bought this shoe brand new for $60 at Marshals.
