I agree with you that the tempo is slow for my taste and I'm curious though what do you consider the original. The House of the Rising Sun is a folk song with no known author. It's something like hundred years old and has been recorded hundreds of times in Blues, Jazz, Country, R&B and Folk versions. Just curious what your favorite is.

Perry, somewhere in UK . The House of the Rising Sun has been my all time favourite, EVER,. This being from when I first heard it at my youth club in the 60’s when the Animals released it. Never in a million years thought I would ever hear another version to match, But. ‘I just have’ and, this so different from the Animals version and with the video makes your version unique.. Love it! Absolutely love it!
Bob Dylans version is better in my opinion. And he took the lyrics from a girl singer. The lyrics was originally "It's been the ruin of many a poor girl" and not "many a poor boy", which would've fitted even better when Julia sings it. Disclaimer: This is just my opinion.

I wish there was an entire full length feature film with just images and your voice singing. Imagine captivating goose bumps the entire movie.
