Since production I did look it up and Grave Digger: The Legend was created in 2011 and was "inspired" by the look of the blue and silver 1984 Grave Digger. monstertruck.fandom.com/wiki/Grave_Digger It does look very similar to that 1984 truck, but obviously it has many more safety features to keep the drivers comfortable and able to pull off the sick stunts that Grave Digger is known for!
You know, the way I understand it, Dennis has fully given management of the brand over to his kids, so he probably is just letting them run with it. That being said, his passion has always been with mud bogging, so if GD:The Legend reminds him of the good old days, maybe he does like it... Who knows!

Yep, tractor tires and the chassis design is totally different, but that's OK. I think the original shell was metal, modern shells are all fiberglass.
