- This tutorial is about how to make a Crop Puffer Vest. A unique chance to make my own designed garment together with me. Its so soft and comfy to wear, especially due to spring season, you never know what the weather will brings you. It can be cold or warm, but with this sleeveless vest it will be always comfortable. Crop Vest with a front zip fastening. Perfect for spring and fall. Can be worn with pair of sporty pants as well as with jeans and casual jersey dress. We filmed this Vest in a Continental part of Croatia. Enjoy the tutorial!

COMMONLY USED MATERIALS (measurements presented for XS size, for other sizes check materials on my Etsy Shop):
1. Outer Main Fabric (110 cm x 1,5m)
2. Lining (60 cm x1,5m)
3. Polyester or Cotton Padding (80 cm x1,5m)
4. Exposed zipper (40-45 cm length)
6. Sewing threads (2 pcs)
Sewing Machine, iron and ironing board, ironing pad or pillow, stick tape, scissors, pins, needles, tape measure, ruler, chalk, needle.

Before to cut on your Original fabric, I SUGGEST you to CREATE a MOCK-UP first (use any cheap or leftover cotton or linen fabric, just not stretchy), because patterns made based on STANDART mannequin size, even though I release a wide size range, but human bodies are different, so It's important to adjust pattern to YOUR own body shape!

I think what’s confusing is the same color material for all the pieces , at least it confuses me 😢
Same Color material? What do you mean ? Please explain :) If you mean design part, then its up to you to use any kind of color, you can mix all shades and tones of fabrics :))
I got confused as well. The outer layer vs the 2nd layer and if it was insideout or not, it all looked the same to me and made it difficult to follow along.

After stuffing each piece, why did you add another layer of polyfill? Is it enough to just do each section without adding more polyfill???
Hi, this is kinda base for those stuffing sections to avoid those parts to be dangling (shifting). I wanted to make vest a bit structured and more puffy. If you want less puffy and kind of loose and softer shape, you can skip that layer as well :)
What kind of sewing machine is needed to achieve this puffer? I’m a beginner learning
Any of regular domestic sewing machine, that sewing straight line, like Brother, Singer, JUKI, Janome. Not necessary to have industrial one :)
Do you have this graded pattern available in child sizing by any chance?
Hi! No, I don't have yet :) But in a purchase I have a instructions on how to enlarge (or decrease ) pattern. So you will need just make few manipulations on pattern :)

HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR DIGITAL FILE:
1. Log in to your Etsy account
2. Click on “You” (top right)
3. Choose “Purchases and reviews”
4. Find the order. Click on “Download Files” (to the right of the order)
5. The file will go to your “Downloads” folders.

I’m confused on how to cut out the pattern for my size medium. So many different lines.
Hi! In a purchase there is a pdf file "Sewing Instructions". On a 4th page "Printing patterns guide" explains how to print Only size that you need (M size). So when you open pdf pattern file with Adobe Reader, in a "Layers" need to keep "eye" button only for "M size" and for "FOR ALL SIZES". Then it will be printed only patterns with your size (only one type of line, not all different lines).

What kind of fabric did u use for outer layer?
I used Nylon fabric as I wanted my vest to be waterproof, but it can be any other medium weight fabric as well :)
How do you measure size

Measure up bust and waist circumference, and according to those dimensions find your measurement. There are total 7 sizes pattern sets from xxs to xxl.

Particularly for this garment I used:
External layer - Nylon (140 cm of length, 140-150 cm of width)
Internal layer (lining) - Polyester (80 cm of length, 140-150 cm of width)
Padding - Polyester (60 cm - 100 cm of length, 140-150 cm of width)
Exposed metal zipper (45-53 cm of length)

Hi ! I used lightweight and soft Nylon, its's a water resistant fabric :)
What size zipper do I need?
Hi! You will need for each size different length of zipper: xxs=40cm, xs=41cm, s= 42cm, m=43cm, l=44cm, xl = 45cm, xxl=46cm. You can always adjust length manually with a help of pliers as I did it :)

Well, I made a pattern based on a female size chart (so it will be small for men), but if you know a bit of pattern making you can make some hacks on pattern, like add more ease and height, then give more room to the armhole.
