I put the top soil in first then the rest off the soil. then I take a water hose on trickle &stick it down 6” in the soft soil & leave it for & hour no mess & well saturated.then I take a five gallon bucket & drill small hole in the very bottom & fill the bucket up with water & let it trickle in very slow no run off ,do this twice a week for a couple of months never lose a tree.
Is the mayer lemon tree likes to thrive in clay soil? I was informed lemon tree needs a very porous soil where water pass through easily thereby avoiding wet feet. Need your comments regarding this matter. Thanks Jovi frm The Phils.

I've never seen this done before. Is mucking in a tree standard process for planting all trees?
