I’ve looked at almost all the bags out there. The top opening part of the MVP/Axiom Voyager bag is just a game changer for me. It’s not a tight pocket like most others bags like Grip where the zippers and material are always rubbing on the discs so if they are dirty at all your had will get dirty fast. The 2 open slots on the Voyager allow for 2 putters and 4 other discs. Not having to bend all the way down to grab your most thrown discs makes a bigger difference than I thought it would.
I'm a newbie player but a diehard backpacker I have a lot of appreciation for a good bag. It's pricey but as a new player I have no doubt in quality of my grip eq cs2. Has limited storage forcing me to carry less discs and really get to know how they work. When I had 20+ disc bag I was lost trying to chose one for a shot. With my cs2 I only have so many options. It was on sale for 115. Worthy of a mention. Quality is top tier
I picked up a Combat Commander when DD had them listed for $89. I love it. Lots of storage, two bottle holders, two putter pockets, and the main area is wide open to get discs in and out super easy. It's very comfortable to wear, too.
I got the lat 64 e4 bag when they were on sale too. The only thing I'm worried about is there's only 1 bottle holder and in the summer that might be a problem
@@fbennett1125 Get yourself the largest insulated bottle that will fit in your bottle holder and keep it filled with lots of ice. I carry a spare water bottle in hand as an extra at times during the summer when it's brutal hot here in Texas.
I got my no-name backpack for €13 (about $13) and have been using it for about 2 years. The shoulder straps are wearing thin and there's no back padding, and the plastic inserts on the sides are kinda collapsing, but other than that, it's a very functional bag. I live somewhere cold and take public transport whenever I play (changing trains and buses multiple times), which means I often carry extra socks, an extra sweater, gloves, a folding stool, a book, and lots of snacks and water. Especially for tournaments. In addition to lip balm, hand cream, wallet, phone, and sometimes cap and sunglasses. Somehow that all fits, plus 15 discs, two towels and a mini. Best €13 I ever spent :)
Hey Anthony, I have the Izzo too and have been loving it. If that top putter flap is bothering you fold it into the pocket then load the discs in. Stays there no problem and doesn’t affect the discs sliding in and out. Haven’t had an issue with it yet. I know some people hate on Discology for cloning Grip bags and the Lat 64 Luxury E4 but I just couldn’t justify spending $200-$300 on a bag. I’m glad Discology is providing a good quality affordable option. Keep up the great content!
Bought my son a Commander on Amazon for $90 and I have an Axiom Lite for $80. The Commander is definitely more of a beast. They both can fit around 22-25 discs. Highly recommend both though.
Spent $60 for my Viking Discs Rucksack Pro, I like it very much so far, holds to many discs for my own good. The top "only" have room for 3-4 putters to be able to close it, but 20-25 discs are no problem with 1-3 utility discs in one sidepocket (quite roomy sidepockets). If I grow out of it their Viking Discs Tour Bag for $100 seems like a nice upgrade ;) They are very nice price/performance so can't imagine me choosing any other for now.
Love the content bro! You for sure should give the Atlas Pioneer a shout. It's super solid and built like a tank. I'd love to see your comparison of the Pioneer and the those Discology bags.
I had a Paratrooper and it's a fantastic first "big" bag for newer players. I got sick of it for the exact same reasons you listed and it just wasn't comfortableand left my back hurting after a tournament or even a practice round, it just felt like a lesser product. Ended up making the jump to a Grip AX5 and I will never, ever look back. Best purchase ever.
I have Core Pro bag, and im super happy with it. I can highly, highly recommend it for all. It holds a lot of discs, if you need it could be more than 25, and it has so much space! That two pockets on sides are huge in all 3 dimensions, one more huge pocket on the top and one bit smaller next to it. Its comfortable, quite light and it looks great! And there is a lot of small details, like partition in the main compartment, tab for keys, good and comfortable back and straps, 4 "feets" on the bottom,........... In my oppinion very underrated bag. Its like Berg 5 years ago.
My biggest complaint of the discology v2 is the side walls were very tedious to try and put in. Ended up not using them. Wasnt a huge issue. And the second putter pocket bends inward on the outside. Which it seems like it was doing for him too. But those are slight nitpicks. Overall for the price. Worth it.
Love my DD Commander bag! I had a Paratrooper bag before and I didn't care for it. I didn't like the top storage/putter pockets. And the main compartment opening was too tight when grabbing discs out of the sides especially
As some people have mentioned about the Paratrooper, leave the plastic out of the very front. The other thing that helps is to use some safety pins (or sew it if you know how) to shorten up the depth of that far back putter pocket. That’s what causes the velcro on the main flap to come loose. The main wear point for that bag is the bottom of the water bottle holders. Mine started to wear holes at 6 months.
Love the Paratrooper for the value. Something that’s helped me is If you remove the small panel in the front it makes taking discs out easier. Put the panel in the big top pocket and it keeps it from collapsing as much. Definitely not perfect but fets the job done?
I have the paratrooper and I carry 30 discs in it. I’m 5’8”. Best bag ever and I love being able to carry so much plastic. I actually put 3 discs in the very very top pouch. Yes, it’s a tiny but hard to get discs out sometimes but I’m used to it and it’s still the best bag I’ve owned yet! Best bang for your buck! Team paratrooper!!
I've loved my paratrooper for the money it's really hard to beat! It's tough getting discs out though and I keep wearing the water bottle pouches out though! I think they drag on the ground with heavy water bottles and get holes in the bottom! Great comparison It's hard to find good bag comparisons like this so thank you!
I'm a fan of my Prodigy BP-2 V3 I picked up a few weeks ago. I was eyeing the others like the Commander and other popular bags, but went with the Prodigy. It's got a ton of room, lots of pockets, a huge top pouch that can fit about 5 discs, and the putter pocket on the front holds my two main putters. It's got dual insulated pouches for drinks or bottles and it's got a chest strap that I don't see on too many bags. I'm loving it.
I’m one of those people who don’t like repping for companies that aren’t paying me for it (which is no one of course). The DD bags are basically high-vis ads for them walking around the courses. I got the OG V1 last year and love that the company logos are Velcro patches that I could replace with stuff I actually want to advertise like our local club etc. Bag has been very good under constant use in all conditions.
I bought the paratrooper for my first big bag. And I like it. I only put 3 discs in the bigger upper pocket, and i have no issue with the the disc picking
I went from the original Trooper to the Atlas Pioneer V3. Other than its tendency to fall forward I have no complaints. I appreciate the true putter pocket that allows for instant access but I do have to put my putters and driver that I keep in the front pocket loose inside the main compartment when not playing.
My wife bought me the Clemmons Handeye MissionRig bag. I love how it looks and love all the space for discs but my god is it heavy. I can't find use for 4 big ass pockets and even though I wanted more rigidity compared to my Innova starter bag, the damn thing is so rigid, it clearly feels like having a crate strapped to your back. Tough when you get it as a gift though, specially from your wife, cause now I have to use it regardless haha
I just bought a Paratrooper less than a month ago, and I was super worried I had overlooked something important. Even seeing it in the contenders made be breathe a sigh of relief. It's a box on your back and a tight fit for discs, but you can remove the panels if you want to make it more flexible.
There’s actually a truck with the trooper where to vercros the pocket to the back of the bag that lifts the top pocket a bit higher and makes it much easier to acces discs
yeah ik about that, but it doesn't hold well even with like 5 discs because they'll get bumped as you take discs out the middle section because the front of the bag is a bit too high to take discs out cleanly and not bump the putter pocket, so even when I did that it still got undone super early in a round
I was gifted the smaller axiom watermelon 🍉 backpack it's decent so far and it fits about 25 disc's but I only have 16 ish disc's in it to lighten the load when I go out to Great Seal since it's a mountain course with creek trenches and up n down hills a lighter bag definitely helps. I'm going to add some plastic inside for better support and maybe some rubber or plastic feet on the bottom.
Just get a little zipper pouch bag thing to put into the bag you like and put your cash in that. Not quite a pocket in a pocket, but that's what I do and it keeps things together for me.
I have a grip bag, my buddy had the DD paratrooper. I picked his bag up and wore it to give it to him (he was in the weeds looking for a disc) and I was surprised at how damn heavy that thing was!!
I bought an izzo at some point this past summer. The plastic walls for the sides came unistalled, it was a real pain to get them in and I ended up ripping the nylon siding on one side. I was so mad that I ripped the siding that the bag went into my closet where it still sits. Little hack I have for anyone looking for a good bag at a great price would be to look up bags from companies that went under, I bought a $200 bag for $40 an it's held up perfectly for the past year an a half.
I'm sorry to hear that. I use the Izzo bag, the side walls were a pain to install, but well worth the patience for the largest capacity bag that doesn't cost 6 figs.
Yo! Shout out to SoFlo! How did you enjoy Easterlin? And how do you think South Florida courses shape up against other courses around the country? (asking as a new disc golfer who has mostly played in South Florida where it seems like the course ratings in Udisc are inflated compared to other places in the country)
regarding your video yesterday, you mentioned that you wanted something slightly more overstable. You should check out the regular kaze, and do a comparison between it and the kaxe z
I really want to get the Izzo bag but it's just baffling that they would have the water bottle holder and the disc retriever slot use the SAME spot! I use my disc retreiver all the time and love having it on me instead of in the car but there's no way I can fit both a 32 oz bottle and the retriver in the bottle holder. Just makes no sense when the other side is COMPLETELY OPEN.
Not a fan of my Paratrooper. I don't carry a ton of discs, but I like carrying a lot of other stuff. You can't put much in the roomy top compartments though, because anything with any weight to it will make the already poor disc access even worse. DD's naming convention is dumb too, I'm not a paratrooper, combat ranger, sniper or whatever, so I covered the name with pins.
Bro says none of these companies sponsor him then 10 seconds later says to use his code for 10% off and they sent him those bags lmaooo. seems like a very truthful straight forward review...
There is no "luxury" bag under $100. Why the overhype? Just say the best middle of the road bag, or just best bag under $100. It's like asking what the best "luxury" car is for $25,000.00...answer is none.

The Izzo is awesome. I carry 30 discs, a windbreaker, extra pants, disc retriever, baseball, range finder and more in it! You can't beat its capacity.
The DD paratrooper limited edition fixes some of your complaints like the Velcro and added support rod between upper two pockets.
Voyager Lite is the best bag you can get for $80. It's way nicer than OG V2.

My experiences have been exactly the same with my Paratrooper.

I just need a bag that holds about 6-7 disc. A spot for snacks and drinks haha
I'm a bigger guy and love my DD combat sniper bag has enough room for everything

That is one super mega big water bottle you have there.
