▼About Washinomiya Yasaka Festival Tennosama The Yasaka Festival "Tennosama," the annual summer festival of the Washinomiya district, is held to appease Gozu Daio, who is said to be the god of disease, as summer approaches, a time when illness and natural disasters are more likely to occur.
Every year on the fourth Sunday in July, starting in the evening, five floats decorated with lanterns are pulled around, accompanied by lively music from flutes, drums, and bells, brightening up the hot summer evenings.
