Not only is Floor’s dress in the Finnish national colours, the pattern is also a double helix……. which fits right into The Greatest Show on Earth…. human evolution…..
Another beutifull song featuring Marco's vocals is While Your Lips Are Still Red (Wembley). Or the official video which is from the film for which the song was made for.
Great reaction, Marco is a great singer... You will love him on "High Hopes" and "The Phantom of the Opera". There's an ongoing joke among Nightwish fans, saying that when asked who's Nightwish's best singer, Marco is a perfectly acceptable answer. This is obviously done to avoid the Floor vs Tarja arguments, and contains a whole lot of truth.
Many ways of translating it, but all mean the same: "If I play the chorus, you will sing along? You will? OK, then we'll do it!" The double neck is a Warwick/Framus Infinity/Panthera. Custom shop, very deep pockets. . . . . . . . . . Not much they can't do, French rap thankfully would be one, they surely do not suck in any way shape and form, you were right about that.
I have to agree that you should watch the Nightwish High Hopes cover. Then you know the true talent of Marko. He wrote the instrumentals of this song and Tuomas helped him with the lyrics.
One of things I really appreciate about this band is, this song has nothing to do with Metal or Symphonic or Rock, but did they even hesitate to record it? Nope, not even a little bit. Marco brought it to Tuomas, he liked the melody, wrote lyrics for it and boom it's on the album.
"The only thing Nightwish can't do....is suck" Absolutely right! I've just been getting into Nightwish and a few other amazing bands all thanks to you and some other reaction channels on TH-cam. Im 40 years old and I feel like I've been introduced to a broader range of music in the last year than I have in the rest of my life and I'm loving it! Great job and awesome to see your channel grow so fast too!
It helps that Marko is a classically trained guitarist. He had switched to bass because apparently in his first band (with his brother), they didn't have a bassist. As for his vocals, he's modeled his singing after another classically trained vocalist: a Mr. Ronnie James Dio. You could easily take him out, slot Dio in to sing this, and you wouldn't have that much of a difference. You should check out a couple of tracks from his latest solo album to get that Dio feel. The video (either in Finnish or English) for "The Voice of My Father", and "Stones" are phenomenal. Then for a twist, check out his duet with Floor (and even the duet with Tarja), singing Ave Maria.
It is always amazing to see people discover Marko properly. All of Nightwish is super talented, but as a massive fan of Marko it really is good to see him. And as you said, not many can say that Floor sings backup for them. So maybe it is time to check out the remake of Markos first ever single TAROT - Wing of Darkness 2011 ?
If you want a better look at Kai, you could watch Weak Fantasy live at Tampere or Wembley, or jump out of the Nightwish box and try his other band, Wintersun with Sons of Winter and Stars. It's epic, and you'll see why I call him the berserker.
Great reaction to a special performance from Marko. If you really want to see another soft side to him, there's a home video on TH-cam of Marko singing a "lullaby" to I believe Jukka's baby daughter.
I had a feeling you would like it. At some point you should react to his solo project. I really think you would like "Isäni ääni" and/or the english version "Voice of my Father". The tricky thing is that I think the finnish version is better, but - as you - I don't understand finnish - other than how to count to 3 (for some reason every danish school kid learns that). So you could look up the english lyrics and react to the finnish version. Or do a double reaction og first the english version and then the finnish. That ofcourse seem a bit silly but I think it could work with some focus of how it changes the feel of it. Or option 3, just listen to the english version. I honestly don't know the best approach. I myself just randomly heard the english first and then realised the was a finnish version as well and found it better. Okay, enough rambling. Thanks for your enjoyable reactions. They are always fun to experience.
As an retired merchant navy officer, this will be the song to play in my funeral in churh (Hope not too soon)...But yep, normally Marko is supporting Floor what comes to vocals but this one of few where Floor is singing as an supporting vocalist. Any way, no matter who is supporting who, it is always so that when these two are singing together, it is warm honey to the ears.
Nice reaction , You said you like Marko`s Bass he was using in the Wacken concert , the company is Warwick , the model is Buzzard , Marko is an exclusive Warwick user , the combo he was using in this video is also made for him by Warwick , Got all that info from Tank the Tech , roadie reacts .

Master Passion Greed (not played live) and you get NightWish's Dark side
When I saw Nightwish in 2012, they played this song but closer to the studio version. It was beautiful, and everyone in the little place was singing along. It felt so wonderful, like we were all old friends in a pub, a brotherhood singing some old but meaningful standard.

I have to say I love your overlay. That red and white corner behind you is such a simple but effective and non-disruptive method of standing out of the video and it looks amazing.
Marko is a official of Warwick basses... I believe it's made together with Framus which is a company they bought years back and works as a subdivision og Warwick.

It's such a beautiful song and catchy as hell, it sticks in my head every time I hear it. Marco is a fantastic singer in his own right and I love him as much as I love Floor. To see Kai in his element, you should watch Wintersun, Sons of Winter and Stars (live at sonic pump studios). It'll blow your mind.
Glad you enjoyed that one...a favorite of mine. Your appreciation of sharing your journey with us is actually a two-way street. If your interested Troy actually sings on their new album I would recomend Shoemaker to hear him and Floor. It is a song that is also a tribute to Eugene Shoemaker one of the founders of planetary science who has his ashes buried on the moon. You also get to hear a spoken word line from Toumas' wife. Also for more folky stuff Harvest from their newest album is mostly folky with a little metal nightwish as well and all 3 Floor Marco and Troy sing on that one, I think it can be hard to pick them apart might also just be Troy and Floor on that one.
I absolutely love this version of The Islander. So simple and yet so powerful I remember from other videos of yours that you've been into European Folk music. Could I perhaps interest you in some Nordic Dark/Pagan Folk? If so, you could check out Wardruna and Aurora - "Helvegen (Live)", A song about death, dying and remembering those who have passed away.
