Another quality video again Colin,the car park looked great and is also very well priced,great to park there and walk to the pleasure beach, I hope I am wrong but I thought I spotted some graffiti on the wall of the underpass just at the bottom of the stairs,if so I hope they keep an eye on this and stop any graffiti and beggars taking refuge there

The lift at the staircase is certainly a good idea and well done Blackpool council or thinking of it. Good idea for someone to come up with a use for that space which was going to be The Easy hotel and a very affordable tariff too. Can't see a disabled space anywhere though. Wonderful amusement arcade on Waterloo Road. Classic opening and closing views of the sea and piers. Best wishes to you and Susan.

The construction anent the stairs is definitely the outside version of the lift for the disabled inside shops and some government buildings. I suspect that it will not be a simple press button and wait though - some of these require a RADAR key such as are used for disabled toilet access. For anyone needing this they are available for about £5 at Boots the Chemist or online of course. The new car park looks tidy as far as the asphalt is concerned but the raw demolished brick party wall on the right hand side has not been touched. It could at least been rendered - it looks horrible for pedestrians walking towards the South Pier. When the car park which replaced the Ambassador Hotel was created the wall of the building adjacent was treated in a way which safeguarded vehicle owners. Not so with the wall in this case, somewhat of an eyesore as is the case with the still not demolished Heartes emporium which has harmed the business trade around it for too long. Rant over! Having said all that we wish the family amusement centre all the best, the tourists who choose the Waterloo Road area of Blackpool to stay may well take their children here to a convenient entertainment attraction. The machines on offer are a very long wat removed from the type of games I remember from the 1950's and 60's. They were mainly bagattels and one arm bandits and nothing digital ... also penny in the slot dioramas with animated puppets! How times change!
