I thought this was perfect for D.O., it's simple just how he is, he's a simple guy who actually wants to live as normal as possible, but it's beautiful because the meaning is deep. It's like that still waters run deep saying. He's always been very careful of his words so a song seems like a perfect vehicle to get his thoughts about his experiences as an idol across. Many aspects of life as an idol may have been uncomfortable for him, but at the end of the day the general thought is that he was happy and he loved it, downsides and all.

Also I don't think your issue would have been an issue if you understood the lyrics. In fact I think the simplicity of the whole thing is part of its meaning (you are okay as you are, it's okay to be ordinary or the same). It's a lyric/story-driven song. Which brings me to MY only issue with this release, which is that SM did not take the time to translate the lyrics to let international listeners understand what D.O. wanted to say, how he wanted to say it.
I'm no Exo L or a vocal expert but I liked that the chorus wasn't powerful... I discovered this song randomly and it was really soothing and every part of the song was like honey dripping... Can't stop replaying it. It has healing properties! :)
I would like to recommend a singer whose name is G.E.M. She is a very good singer. All her songs are basically composed by herself. Her songs are very explosive and very pleasant to listen to. She is called the Chinese version of Taylor Swift by American media. She deserves to be known all over the world. I sincerely hope you can go there. Thank you very much for listening to her songs.
