I had a 1969 280s about 20 years ago. The 220s from 57-? reminds me of that car of course, but also of the 1967 Volvo 123gt that I acquired shortly thereafter. Not that the Volvo came close to the understated elegance of this beauty. Also, by '67, Mercedes had updated the body style.
The one thing both this and my 69 280s shared was a style that was, relative to the production years, way ahead of their time.
