Mine just arrived yesterday (1/27/23) after having ordered it in December, they took a while for it to be completed from the factory...that being said, the hand set is newer...they've adjusted the length of both. Looks MUCH better.
Just ordered mine. I have been looking for a salmon dial watch for a while, and have been checking the Tissot Heritage 1938 but wasn’t really to spend €700 or €800 for a watch that will only get occasional wrist time. And then, this little guy popped up in an AliExpress email and I bought it immediately. I don’t expect Vacheron Constantin levels of finishing and the movement falls into the disposable category, but around €100, getting a good looking mechanical watch, with the right dimensions and a two year warranty seems like a deal one cannot pass.
the hands are extended as per suggested here ie hour hand touching the hour subdial and minute hand overlapping the indices. Even the second hand is extended closer to the second subdial.
I bought this watch 2 months ago as it has Vintage Patek Philippe vibes. The strap I changed as it felt as if it was about to fall apart . The movement accuracy is incredible considering there are no specifics . K1 crystal will do but I would also have preferred sapphire therefore I do not wear daily but always wanted a salmon dial in my collection.
@@AwkwardHorology put a grey vintage leather strap on with white stitching . If they bring out a version 2 with sapphire I would probably buy and sell this one . The brand have also vintage looking chronographs on there website . It would be great if they sent you a couple to review as they have a version of the seagull manual wind movement in . I agree that Merkur is an absolute mess of a branding. The feedback you give them would be a game changer for them. I'm genuinely confused when I look through their catalog and see different brand names and a mix of them left and right. They don't stand out from other brands in one quick look and it seems like they are not confident in their brand. In any case, thanks for the review, I hope they get their stuff together because they do produce nice watches!

The movement appears to be a dressed-up Tongji Chinese Standard Movement, with extra gearing for the small seconds hand, instead of the usual central seconds hand. I would have liked to see a narrower crown that sits more flush against the case, rather than mushrooming out the way it does. The crown logo also looks a bit much like the Mathey-Tissot logo. They should have used a display caseback to show off that simple but attractive movement. And what is the word beneath the Pierrre Paulin branding? But overall, a very well put together package. Tempting!

Ditto! I love the look of this watch, I love the look of the strap but as I said I don’t foresee it lasting overly long! What strap did you put it on?
