I went to Japan last year! and from the UK its about £1000 for flights and then i'd say bring another £700 for food and extra fun :D I was lucky and got to stay at my boyfriends house over there so no hotel costs for me! hope this helps a little :)

lucky you you were among the last who could visit the island, they have closed it to non Japanese tourist, unless you actually live in the country now. After an america tourist killed a rabbit for fun in october 2014
