We have the super early Babymetal with ultra Kawaii and ultra heavy elements in Doki Doki Morning with Kami East, then the grown up Babymetal with a more mature feel and the Kami West. You need to check out the original MV from 2011 for Doki Doki Morning! Straight Saturday morning cartoon -> demon portal summoning 😂. Very good reaction, as always :) As a fan of Sakura Gakuin, the first time I saw this perfprmance of Doki Doki Morning it blew my mind, it was like a beautiful gift for the fans. I recommend you react to Metalverse, they only have two songs on TH-cam but they are very good. And I'm not a big fan of Hard Rock but Kagerou is a very good song, Anthony Barone is a beast and it's good that you noticed Riho Metal, she is a sweetheart.
Good double reaction. Nobody at the Makuhari Messe shows had a clue about METALVERSE and they were all really confused about what was happening when the lights went out on BABYMETAL and they seemed to have suddenly teleported across the arena to the other stage. They thought at first it was the big screen, then a trick done with mirrors ... and then they noticed the slightly different costumes with the red skirts (a throwback to early BABYMETAL). Some of the Sakura Gakuin fans in the crowd then recognised who the Metalverse girls were ... and the lore at the start made a bit more sense. 'Kagerou' was first performed on the 2018 tour, but at that time it was a Su-metal solo and she was largely freestyling what she did on stage. Also we didn't know the song title - a set list had it down as 'Tattoo' Only when the album was released in October 2019 did we find out the real title - and Moa was there with the Avenger supporting Su and this whole new choreo was revealed as well. I think you need to see the original music video for 'Doki Doki Morning' now. The song was recorded late October 2010, the video was made nearly a year later on a shoestring budget.

what was really fun was all the speculation about the 3rd throne and 3rd glass coffin at the end of the first night. We all agreed it would be really messed up to do all that and not make Momo an official member. We figured they'd do that the second night. Then the second night ended with a poorly lit Momo where the third coffin should be and then EVERYONE swore it wasn't Momo 😂

I was at Makuhari for the performance of Doki Doki Morning, and we had no idea what the heck was going on when Metalverse appeared. I initially thought it was some sort of hologram effect or projection trick, but then I saw that their outfits were different and I realized that it was actually three new performers. This was their first ever appearance and at the time no-one knew who they were at the time. It was only months later that their name was announced.

BM actually stopped performing DDM between 2018 & 2020. Their teenage years were ending, the lore was about to veer to the 'dark side', & they also wanted to perform newer material ahead of its eventual release (2019's Metal Galaxy album). Some of their early songs could be musically updated (& became evergreen as a result), but many others would fell by the wayside in 2016-2017: Tokyo Dome (Iine!, Onedari Daisakusen); Five Fox Festival (Sis.Anger, Awadama Fever, Rondo Of Nightmare); Big Fox Festival (CMIYC, Uki Uki Midnight, Amore); Legend S Baptism XX (IDZ, DMM, Song 4, No Rain No Rainbow). Most of these shelved songs would be revived again only at the 10 Babymetal Budokan anniversary gigs in 2021, ostensibly for nostalgic value, but which I also think they want deserving reasons (commemorative, artistic, creative) to showcase them once more. Indeed, they would perform DDM only 4x since 2021, i.e. twice at Babymetal Returns (Makuhari Messe) in 2023 to introduce Metalverse, & twice more at Legend MM 20Night /21 Night (Yokohama Arena) in 2024 to celebrate Momo's coming of age day. The deafening crowd participation at Legend MM, as the now-grown ups sang along to DDM, should hopefully encourage BM to bring back those juvenile-themed songs more often (instead of as an occasional live bonus).

I definitely think the Legend MM 2024 performances of both Doki Doki Morning, and Kagerou with Kami band intro are worth checking out. Momo didn't actually get to sing backup vocals in that DDM as she wasn't a member yet, where she is a member in Legend MM 2024 version. Also 2024 Kagerou is with Momo as a member which means her backing vocals as well and isn't a compilation. There's a lot of Legend MM stuff up on YT now, and it's all worth favoring those performances over older ones as they performed quite a number of their old songs there with Momo as a member.

Miko Todaka and Sakia Kimura were from Sakura Gakuin. Kokona Kato was not. Miko (lead singer) also trained at Actors Studio Hiroshima - same as Su.
