Always touch base with the parents before your children attend parties and sleepovers. It does not matter if he's 17, Chris is still a child and you want to make sure he's in a safe environment.
You are so right it was good you told her that I remember years ago in a policeman told me that once I always make sure you know the parents when your children are going to their home and make sure you know who lives in the home and I used to always do that even though I didn't let my daughters stay nowhere but I would let my son but he would always call me before the night was over for me to pick him up anyway but that was a nice suggestion you gave her just saying.
I thought in this day and age sleep overs were just about obsolete. Even with knowing the parents you do not know nor do they what their kids/kid is up too.

I got an old heating pad from my mother, left it on (didn't shut off automatically due to age) and I was lucky like you that I was home when I smelled smoke coming from the bedroom. That old heating pad burned a circular coil like burn through my bedding into my mattress. I shudder to think what could have happened.
Thank goodness you guys were not out at the time or all asleep!

Hey Shyvonne and family! “G”got some really nice gifts for her new home! I will definitely be praying for her! I’m so glad nobody was hurt by the extension cord mishap! I only use surge protectors also because I had a similar accident with an extension cord where the cord overheated and melted together with the cord that was attached to it! The fan that was plugged it was broken also! The living room looks great! I also struggle with anemia! I became anemic after my first child was born in 1983! I have had several transfusions in the past and had to take iron for years! One time I was hospitalized for five days in ICU because I went to the ER for what I thought was an asthma attack but the doctor said my shortness of breath was caused by my iron being so low and my blood pressure was 90/60 when I got to the hospital! Now it’s better and I manage it with my women’s vitamin supplements! I pray your anemia gets under control soon!❤❤❤💜❤❤❤

Same, my daughter is 16 and she knows the routine. I need first and last names and parents names cause I'm doing research. Thank God she has a core group of friends who are quite intuitive and op out of certain activities that may be sketchy. Those prayers for her discernment are working. We use life 360 to track each other and her friend group uses it also.

In older homes you have to be very careful. The electric in older homes can heat up too much and catch fire.

Hello Shyvonne, I love the couch arrangement. I am looking to purchase the coffee table. I think it will work great for my space. So happy for your daughter ❤
I used to work for Sears, and let me just say here that people do not know that extension cords have different wattages. And especially considering you have an older home, you have to know the wattages available in the wall outlets. In brand new homes , ll the outlets will have the same output. With older homes and updates done over many years, your wall plug-in in the living room could be different from the kitchen outlets. So surge protectors are necessary and a very good idea. 👍🏻🙏🏻💟💜✝️

Shyvonne, I use to do the same thing with both my sons, like it or not if I don’t know where you are at or staying then YOU stay home! I got Names , addresses and phone numbers. It is a sad scary world we life in and you can’t trust people. My kids life means more to me than hurting someone’s feelings or being that person. In the little town we live in they caught a man dressed as a woman waiting in the women’s restroom at out park , he had tried to get 2 little girls to go with him. Thank God a Mom walked in and caught him. I have 2 young Granddaughters and I’m going to tell you they DONOT go to the restroom anywhere alone. I would be in jail if he tried that with my babies!!!!!! Long rant but better safe than sorry. Be that Moma 🐻 Bear♥️Thank you for sharing. God Bless.
