I pick up about a volume every few months for my favorite ongoing series as they wrap up but im not chomping to go bookstores n drop big money like i used to. I sold off alot of stuff i never read but i still like what ive kept. I've been collecting since i was 10 and sometimes go several years without buying any new manga but i know it'll come back around for me.

@@BoogieSnacks here in the UK our houses and apartments are TINY compared to what you guys have across the pond. So going 100% digital is really handy to save space. Plus my cats cant eat digital manga
I love how big B&Ns are in LA county! You should check out some of the B&Ns in Orange County. They totally expanded the manga section and it's such a joy to me. We also have 2 really great Book Off locations with huge amounts of Manga. But it makes sense to go locally. Me being an OC resident really has no business in heading over to the LA locations. Dont wanna deal with traffic lol! Great vlog as always! Cant wait for the haul video!

Hate to say it, but corporate controls the stock at Barnes and Noble, even after the changeover of CEOs. Employees can make individual store lists sometimes for items that would appeal to locality, but the booksellers there definitely just shelve what is shipped to them. For example, toys and gifts are the bane of a bookseller's existence. There's no room anywhere, but they just keep sending stuff. This is from someone who really enjoyed their time working at BN. My experience was great, but it's not like working at an indie shop. The individualization of booksellers typically come in doing endcaps, special tables, and shelf talkers.

I am horrendously jealous of all the bookstores you have access to. I have 1 bookstore that's 4 hours away and the manga section is pitifully small and with extremely limited selection of series. If I had access to even one of the stores you visited today, I would be a happy manga reader.
See stories like this sadden me - I do realize i am VERY lucky to be surrounded by a plethora of manga shopping. I hope the industry grows to the point where there is at least a bit more shopping in person available worldwide

Really jealous of the book stores you have in the US, in the UK there's only a couple of chains that stock manga with waterstones been the only country wide chain that does and all there selections are pretty limited, so have to rely on online shopping.
