John is the greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time, he can sing anything, any genre including opera. John’s versions of this huge and beautiful song are the best versions I’ve ever heard and hold a special meaning for me and my family, especially the performance of this he did at the Melbourne carols by candlelight on Christmas Eve back in the mid 90’s I think and I think was just that tiny bit more magical. So powerful and John sings with so much passion and emotion.
Is that one from that year on youtube anywhere ? Il check that one out as well if it is. Its a song full of emotion and john performs it VERY well. I think he was born to sing and entertain
Thanks Ted. A lovely reaction to a beautiful rendition by John 😊❤❤ He has loved this song forever, I think I have a recording of him in the early 70's singing it... he holds it dear to his heart and always has 😊 I love this version though, has to be my favourite. He just goes for it, belting it out in the second half of the song after drawing us all in in the first half. Thanks Ted. Catch you again soon 😊❤❤
No problem thank you for watching. I agree its a great performance as always from john. Is a very powerful song it has a lot of enotion behind it. I think your recommendation may be the same one a few people have mentioned so il defo be checking that one out when i get home in couple dsys. Thank you again ❤️❤️
Hi Ted. This song was written for the musical Carousel and John has loved it since he was a teenager. He loves performing it. Another absolutely beautiful version of it by John is at our Carols by Candlelight in Christmas 1994 with Marys Boy Child and in 1999 at our Concert for the Troops that John organised in East Timor in 1999. Its great to know how much it means to you as well. A lot of farmers have taken their own lives here and it really. saddens John because he loves the land and he loves people. Thanks Ted 🥰
Are they on youtube ? il have a look out for them could feel the emotion in the performance so could see it meant something to him. Its very sad seeing whats happened to farming. The same has happened here, altho different reasons but the end result is lot taking their own lives. Its very sad indeed. Thank you for watching and for the info ❤️

Thanks for those il check those ones out as well. Is the second video 2 songs on 1 video ? I may record that as a double at same time and upload as same video now i have the memory on laptop to make longer videos. It still amazes me how much john has done over the years ❤️
Yes that song means a lot here too but many of us were hurt and remember what happened in England. There is a video on here where Liverpool came to play at the MCG in Melbourne. Picture 95,000 mostly Australians singing that to Liverpool as they came out. So they knew they were welcome. John is very caring and I am still waiting to find a song he can’t sing. Thank you.
No one can belt out a tone like the way John does. Such powerful emotional song and Farnsey nails it. You need to check out Australian legend Jimmy Barnes sing this song with his son David Campbell
Il check those out thank you for the recommendation. I feel like iv heard of those 2 before somewhere. Agree he has some serious power behind his voice
This is one of John's past hits, and is exceptional; but I'd recommend you react to David Campbell and Jimmy Barnes(David's father) singing this slng, at a different Carols By Candlelight.
Thanks for the suggestion il add that onto the list. So far everybody has suggested great music. Hasnt been a single bad song. You all have great taste
Yes it is a beautiful song....with such a special message for those doing it tough. John always sings from his heart. Here is John singing the same song many years later for our soldiers on duty in East Timor in an open air concert along with many villagers and their children ...this was Christmas 1999. th-cam.com/video/aT5VjspFTrw/w-d-xo.html His vocals are still impeccable Love from Australia
Thanks for the recommendation i shall add that on to the list. Its been mentioned a couple times now so think it may hold it dear to them that version. I can imagine it would be an emotional moment. Love also from the uk
This song is originally from the musical Carousel, so while it's been sung for events such as you mentioned, it's not exclusively for those reasons. It's a song from a musical. John does it beautifully, as he always does.
There are only few singers that can make this song just. Please check out Johnny maestro singing this song. He was an amazing doo wopp singer, one of the very best. He was lead singer of the crests a and the Brooklyn bridge . You will not be disapointed. ❤
Thank you for recommending. I think that is a new one for me so will defo add it on the list. Its quite a big list so may take 2-3 weeks but will get to it for sure. Thank you again ❤️

John Farnham, the greatest most versatile singer on the planet. What a legend.❤️❤️❤️
I agree he is a legend. He can sing just about anything he chooses to. Thats rare these days ❤️❤️❤️
John was born in uk and came with the family to Australia as a 9yr old and has called Australia home all these years
He was and you were all very lucky he moved over there. Absolutely amazing country

John is great, but please.....................certainly not as versatile and great as Dimash.
@ yep
@ yes it is and I later saw you’ve already done it, it was so great.
Oh is that the other one i did. Yeah that was good. Was my introduction to john and this song
I love John Farnham so much, but the signature pop version of this song is done by Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Iv not heard that version iv only heard the gerry and the pacemakers version and this one now
@@BluntTedTalksMusic I hope you'll check it out sometime, even if only privately. Fans of the song often point to it as being unmatched.
Il be sure to do that on my next day off. Always happy to hear something for first time

I always loved Elvis Presley singing this song until I heard John sing it, in my opinion he sings this song the best
Iv not heard the elvis version il defo check that out i imagine thats a great version as well. Johns version is defo the best one iv heard so far
Farnsy is our aussie legend. He is now 75 years old and recovering from mouth cancer. Sadly, as a result, he wont be singing again
Is very sad that he is not very well. Would be amazing if he could sing again even if just once but understandably it would be very difficult
John always pulls a tear from me when he sings this song. Great reaction, to a great song sung by the greatest singer ever.
No problem thank you very much for watching. He is amazing is john
Thanks Ted for playing this song beautifully sung by John😊

I agree he did an amazing job on the song. Its naturally am emotional song but enhanced when sung by john
He sang the song for those who were suffering through a drought which lasted over a decade.
I thought so as he mentioned the drought in the intro to the song
