- A walkthrough and review video for the Cortado MKIII contact microphone from Zeppelin Design Labs. In this video I run the features and specs of the mic as well some recording examples of instruments and sound design.
I received an NFR Cortado MKIII for review purposes.

Side note, all clips marked natural are straight from the recorder with zero processing apart from level. I also chucked this mic into some ice and it survived just fine, just didn't get anything that exciting sound wise.
Stunning !!
Merci!
Great video! We just used contact mics on an old Yamaha e piano and came up with a way more interesting sound, especially making a beat with the action in the plastic keys. Your examples are giving me way more ideas, buying some contact mics of my own ASAP!
Thanks! It's definitely a fun way to record, I'm hoping to experiment on an upright piano soon.
Great video!
Thanks!
Do you by chance know the difference between the MK two and the MK three?
I think the MK 2 is a DIY kit but I'm not sure what other differences there are, pretty sure its a different sensor though. The guys at Zeppelin should be able to help though.
How much?
There's a link in the description to the product page that will have pricing on it.
