is your car’s temperature gauge getting too hot?
There's no need to panic. If the temperature gauge needle moves into the red, this usually means a problem with the cooling fan. If this happens while you’re driving, you should pull over as soon as possible.
The cooling fan will need to be fixed quickly, as continued driving will cause the engine to overheat and lead to a lot of trouble. You can easily identify and fix this issue yourself. There are four failure points that need checking.
Note: Check your owner’s manual for further instructions and precautions.
1. Test the motor
a) Check under the hood, locate the cooling fan and see if it is spinning. If it isn’t, something is wrong with the fan system.
b) Cooling fans are simple DC motors. You should start by testing the motor. You should see a cable coming off the motor. Follow the wire from the fan motor towards the engine, until you get to the plug for the fan connector. Gently unplug the cable from the connector.
c) Get hold of jumper wires for testing. Hook up one end to the positive and negative terminals of your car battery and the other end to the terminals on the fan motor. It doesn’t really matter which way you connect this.
CAUTION: The fan blades are sharp. Take all necessary safety precautions.
If the fan motor doesn’t start working, the problem is with the motor and you just need to get a replacement.
2. (TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
check your car's temperature sensor by unplugging the male-female contact plug when the temperature is beyond the limit(where the radiator fan starts at the middle of the temperature gauge)
3. Check the fuse:
If the motor does come on, the problem is somewhere else. At this point, we know the motor isn’t getting any power. So check the fuse to make sure if it hasn’t blown (it should be continuous). If the fuse has blown, then it needs replacement.
4. Check the temperature switch:
The fan gets its power by a switch called the cooling fan temperature switch. The position of this switch depends on your car. Check your car manual to locate it. To check it you need to unplug it, ground the terminal from that end and take the other end of the ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery. If the fan starts working, then all you need is a new sensor for the cooling fan.
5. Check the cooling fan relay:
After all of that, the fan may still refuse to work. There is one more thing left to check, the cooling fan relay. Go to the fuse box which should show you where the relay is. Unplug the relay and just replace it. Over time these relays can stop working and simply need replacement.
6. check the thermostat valve
if your engine is still hot check your thermostat valve or replace it with a lower degree temperature rating.

Hi Saurav your videos help a lot, as a DIY enthusiast myself your channel is usually my got to channel when I face problems. I dont rely on mechanic these days as I they usually mess up more than they can fix and I am left with an even faulty car (TATA INDICA EV2 CR4 LX DIESEL).My car runs great only there are mostly electrical faults which are huge turndowns 🥵.
You are doing great work and seem to be knowledgeable person tnx for helping and sharing these hacks with us.
P.S. :- I know fixing the car and recording at the same time is a pain 🤣🤣 , but thnx for taking the initiative, you are helping many people in an exponential manner.

You are correct that many mechenic dont know how to properly diagnose a problem.and they direct many things bypassing many sensors which is more worst thing for engine under long running condition.
But cayring your own vehicle with your own knowledge is like taking care of a child.
Engine are like small kid who dont know how to drive itself and that's why it need soo much of care.

I have decided replace the temperature sensor switch & thermostat valve of my 2oo4/5 Indica V2 diesel DLG BS 2, though it's been running & working fine after flushed the radiator with liqui moly radiator coolant flush, just like you demonstrated by you & the radiator coolant was filled with by mixing distilled water & it's working great temp meter showing the same like my new car in 2005 😊 yet my car is now 15 years old & run more than 85000 KM, got my FC done few months back, I feel radiator temp switch and thermostat valve has to be replaced waiting eagerly for the spare parts ordered on boodmo online portal & I am going to do it my self at home like I flushed the radiator with liqui moly radiator flush & put new coolant, thank you very much for your video guidance & demonstration, God bless you 🙏🙌😊.

I meter is not showing over temperature then their is no problem
Also after driving 15 to 20 km temperature. Niddle will not comes to quarter position but it will come little bit more than quarter position .if radiatior is working fine and their is no coolent leakage from any point.

Collent ka level kam to nahi ho raha hai. Also temperature ka meter half pe jane se pehle hi fan chal raha hai kay.

If there is no RPM fluctuation problem then this problem is due to FAULTY TPS (POTENTIOMETER) OR
I will suggest you to reduce the distance. Of 8mm bolt in high pressure fuel pumo also

Waiting for your next video. Cold start me alternator belt thodi der sound Karti hai, phir normal ho jati hai. Mai isko easily 50/- me local mechanic se tight karwa sakta hu par mai DIY Karna chahta hu. Experiment nahi karunga to seekhunga kaise.

Agar thodi der karti h to belt k upari hisse pe thoda grease ya Vaseline laga de band ho jayega cold start pe bhi. Jyada belt tight Karne ya karane pe tensioner kharab ho jata h.

Meri Indigo cs petrol ka temp switch ka wire mai ne check kiya ,sirf ek wire connected hai doosra wire cut hai aur couple nikalne se gadi ka fan nahi chal raha hai , ac chalane se fan chalte hai , kya problem ho sakti hai??
