    Idk personally I think writing appears less intimidating when there’s more white space. If the first paragraph of a work is a huge block chances are I’ll click right out.

      I mean you can have spaces but the too wide of spaces between paragraphs is annoying to me when I post my stories. Some people like it though and that's fine 🙂

    You're giving me the vibe of that one guy who took apart Apple stuff just to find out how it's built so he can teach everyone how to do it at home because *fuck* Apple repair costs. Chaotic good. I adore it, you'll do great my friend.
    Thanks for this.

      Thank you! I spend a lot of hours trying to fix and understand things that I like and use, so I really appreciate the kudos on that labor. I also hope the things I discover can help other people so I'm very happy to help when I can.

    I love the wide spaces, have just encountered a few good stories with the writers putting in the entire chunk from top to bottom! I just feedback to someone the editor part, to use it but she says dont know how *argh

    Started uploading a few months ago and I use HTML via copy and paste. I don't edit a lot other tham fat and cursive tho. idk it appears easier to me since my rich text is much more work somehow. great video in general so thanks for the insight!

      It’s an option on “rich text” on ao3! It’s the “-“ button between the quote button and bullet point button

    I am having the compete opposite of this problem, the paragraphs I make don't show up and everything is on one side and smooshed together. I go back and space them out again but it never takes. I've tried single and double lines and I've tried add space after paragraph and prevent single lines. It all doesn't work. Any Suggestions?

    I haven't finished the video yet but every time I pasted into AO3 my italics are gone, as well as any other format used for my stories so it kind of kills the little bit of extra flavour when I'm writing because I can't play around with sentences and style knowing it won't be translated into AO3

    • @Dani_1012
      @Dani_1012 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alright, this fixed the italics problem so thank you for that but the space problem persists and I'm getting frustrated. Do you have any more tips?

    This is so incredibly helpful, thank you! Do you know to remove the line entirely between paragraphs? My fic includes poetry and I don’t want ANY line spacing between the lines, but I have to hit return to separate them. And I hate the spaces that ao3 adds between things you’ve hit return between:
    Should be:
    First line of poem
    Second Line of poem
    NOT
    First line of poem
    Second line of poem

      Try doing shift+enter!

    • @TGyamiBakura
      @TGyamiBakura  ปีที่แล้ว

      Gosh I've been trying to figure it out but really like the other reply said, the only thing you can do is shift+enter after each line to make a line break instead of a paragraph. (1 enter press = a paragraph = 1 space, and Ao3 shows that space too pronounced). A line break is like pressing enter without pressing enter, but it still moves down the line so you won't get spaces in-between. Hope you were able to figure it out...

    Hey, do you know how to make a custom work skin ?

    • @TGyamiBakura

      Sorry I don't know how 😔

    • @crying-5596
      @crying-5596 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You need some big brain power to do that, sadly.
      Work or Site skins are made using CSS which is even more fucking difficult than HTML, mind you.
      And to use the skin on your work, you mostly need to use HTML for it to apply.
      So, goodluck. 👍

    I just tried that on my ipad but there’s no line spacing icon in my app

    • @TGyamiBakura
      @TGyamiBakura  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately there is no line spacing button on mobile docs from what I've seen. Recently tried to search for it again and came up with no results. I have to format them on my desktop. I also make some pre-formatted docs incase inspiration hits

    • @TGyamiBakura
      @TGyamiBakura  ปีที่แล้ว

      I found a bit of a workaround on this. It's kind of screwed though. Gotta change your browser to desktop mode on your phone and then open the doc. On google pixel chrome you have about 2 clicks before the page goes unresponsive, but in that time you can carefully smash your huge finger on the little lines and change it to double spacing, and then the whole doc will change so you can now edit in the docs mobile app. kinda sucks if you've already written it in single spacing, but if you start fresh, it should work fine. Then change your browser back to mobile and it's all good. It's not ideal but hey you don't need to go find a desktop computer every time you want to start a story
