    Grim greetings, found my way here via Kens Death Metal Crypt vid featuring Burial Curse. Good to see another gear head among Crypt followers. Wow, an early model JCM800 sounding that heavy with no boost. I only heard the later 2210 model having enough gain for extreme metal with no boost. BTW, great riffs, pure early Autopsy, and that is a good thing. \m/

      Thank you I really appreciate that period I. I am always pretty surprised that there is only a niche of is nitch of gear heads that are also into extreme death metal and black metal. To me part of the fun is trying to figure out a great tone with some different gear and currently I am working with some stuff that is normally considered trash gear for a few projects and I am honestly surprised how well it's turning out and hes earning out and also slightly I guess relieved that I finally found a use for one of my guitars that I have never used on any recording because it always sounded like trash.
      Also thank you for the compliments on the riffage. I obviously very much love autopsy. I have a few projects and bands and one of them I kinda lean heavy towards autopsy worship. I just need to release the last EP on CD and the other full length that I have tracked I need to finish vocals on.

      Also I will say the guitarist in burial curse Is a huge gear junkie as well I think that's why we get along so much because we sit there and compile and debate different heads for different releases. I think for that we used a VTM120 And he had something else blended into it no pedals on either but I can't remember the other amplifier I kind of want to say it was an Ampeg SS140C

      @@ShaolinLambKiller Cool to hear re: all that gear, VTM120 is another good old amp that deserved more credit. Yeah that JCM800 sure nailed the Autopsy sound well considering they used Peaveys as far I saw on old rehearsal vids. Speaking of JCM800's, every tried the 2203KK? Right now on this page the suggested TH-cam vids include a Guitar World vid on that amp with Kerry King himself playing it, but some say he doesn't use the amp himself & that its just a hyped up marketing gimmick.

      @@georgesaris9968 no I've never actually tried that one. I actually did not know about it. But I would not be surprised if it was only a signature model for him to sign off on. It kind of reminds me whenever Soilent Green was signed to metal blade and they were doing videos and on tour they were sponsored by Mesa. On stage you would see the Mesa Stacks but the actual head that was hooked up to the Cabs was an Ampeg SS 150 h. Brian basically said their sound is that head and they weren't going to change the sound for any branding or anyting but they'll sign the deal to get the money and or gear which I know he did get a couple of heads and he turned around and sold those

    I’ve always liked the way the SD1 accentuates the mids . Good tone man, and dig the playing as well

    • @ShaolinLambKiller
      @ShaolinLambKiller  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you I appreciate that. I find it's the best because it also doesn't color the overall tone of the amp that much if you don't allow it. And obviously yes mids are life

    Much better with the boost.

    nice tones. JusMight wanna give the amp some space to allow it to cool? Looks packed in there.

      @ShaolinLambKiller  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is pretty packed in here I haven't had a dish with overheating or any particular one overheating but their only at the most being run for a couple of hours at most then allowed to cool down while other things are being taken care of or I have to go within to something else but haven't really thought about it because I never had the issue but definitely does keep it nice and toasty inside for sure

      I don't think I ever got the notification of this. I honestly haven't played the XXL. Everybody tells me is just like the tube head the XXX. That 1 I do have and if that's what i could go off of i would say they would be similar and from some of the videos i have heard it does sound in the same realm of the shock wave but personally if i had a choice between the 2 I think from everything I've read the shock wave is better built. But that it also is 300 W and goes down to 2 Ω. That alone would make me fall within that realm of buying the shock wave instead. I plan on doing more videos relatively soon I'm probly gonna start doing a lot more in December I've just been focusing on tracking albums as of recently I guess you can say. Not that I have never stopped tracking albums is just it's the main focus of my free time.
