There are sales taxes and over 33% in income taxes for ppl who earn more than 60K a year. Puerto Rico has been in a social, political, and economic crisis since Hurricane Maria.

As soon as I talked about it and got it off my mind I quit thinking about it every day. I can now talk openly with my wife about what happened and not feel like shit about myself. On the Puerto Rico topic: we suffered a category 5 hurricane and around 4,000 people died because of it. Most of us didn’t have electricity for 5 months, but some didn’t have for an entire year. So like, the life of people on ventilators, people who needed medical equipment, etc were impaired or lost... It’s a paradise and I’m lucky to live here. But, the fact that you guys don’t even know about this is part of the problem. Puerto Rico is a colony of the United States. And it lured large companies to manufacture here by paying workers a fraction of the costs. Problems here have snowballed because the lack of knowledge of everyday americans. They come here and expect the best treatment, then leave to forget about it all. I know this is a comedy podcast and I should treat it as such, but if anyone is reading, I hope you learned something and if you decide to visit, always buy from Puerto Rican owned businesses. Stay and Puerto Rican owned places. Buy local art. We love respectful visitors.
