Was it actually rear facing? :) It doesn’t look like it on the video. We’re taking this flight in a few months and dont want the rear facing seats so your response would mean a lot 😊
Hi there - yes definitely rear facing, and that's the beauty about it...you can barely tell at all from the video or during the flight itself that the plane is going the opposite direction :)
I used 90K United Miles for this flight so didn’t pay anything, but I’ve seen a few ads lately for $2.7K roundtrip from NYC to Jakarta (which I think is a steal for this quality). Hope that helps!
How was the firmness on the seat? I know it's subjective but other reviewers have either said it was too firm or compared it to a park bench. I was tempted to book a cash fare from LAX to HND but opted not too. Especially with JAL offering availability in their APEX one-way business class seats for just 60K AA miles. 12 hours or so on a "bench" during a red eye didn't sound too enticing. Plus the bedding didn't look plush enough...
@Kevin Kim - It does appear firm when you look at it, but for me it felt comfy (definitely not park bench level, but definitely not soft/plushy either). I'm quite picky when it comes to seat comfort...I find, for example, that Air France's business class seats are too firm. But ANA's was not that at all. I do agree though that the bedding could be way better (my favorite topper btw is from American Airlines biz class, which gets theirs from Casper).
@@AirJermaine The best strategy is to look for award availability on United and Aeroplan. When you see it ( I found a date 330 days out ) then call Virgin Atlantic as a one way award is only 60K Virgin Atlantic miles. I transferred AMEX points and they literally transferred while I was on the phone with the Virgin Atlantic agent.
Sorry I think it was probably more on me filming the hot buffet when the pots were empty/messy. The food did look good, but there weren't many selections for hot foods at the same time.

Yup! I used 90k United miles, which feels like a lot for business class
The Lounge is nice... I love the open terrace... Never been on ANA but looks they could match Qatar's suite... And much better than LH or Austrian...
I can't wait to try Qatar's QSuite soon, I hear so many great things about it!
