I love that this also implies that Isaac and Miria love and care each other so much that they didn't even realize over seventy years had passed that they had been in each other's company.
Technically, they never ACTUALLY realized they were immortal, they just thought that every day was their birthday, which makes this even more hilarious.
+Ramming Aries Not really, they just have the same author and Miria & Isaac just make a cameo appearence in Durarara, but you can say that they are in the same universe without it affecting any of the stories.
There are a few characters that intersect every now and then. For example, the narrator of the first Baccano novel is the next door neighbor to Durarara's main character Mikado, and the demon that granted the Advenna Avis immortality is somehow acquainted to Celty.
They deserve to be immortal because they'll never understand what it even means. I mean, it took them 70 years to even realize they hadn't been aging. It will take them 1000 years to figure out what they can do with immortality, if they don't forget that they're immortal before then.
+gokuandmario4ever There were a few rumors floating around, that their creator would make a comedic spin-off series for them. The only thing that I heard was, it would follow the adventurs of two beloved characters over a hundred years. However this was disproven, as they still appear in the original Baccano! light novels.
+gokuandmario4ever Agreed, and still got to say good job from J Micheal Tatum (as Isaac) and Caitlin Glass (as Miria) and to the whole cast. they pulled it off so well.
wow, they didn't notice. I won't be shocked if they didn't know other things, such as how there is no Santa Clause or how they don't know how babies are born.
Cupid Black They know plenty of immortals and would have met many other people over the years, but they should watch out for those microwaves if they use a cellphone.
Every time these two showed up in the show, no matter what the previous scene was, they always made me laugh, best anime duo ever. Also love the dubbing, I mean the show takes place in America, it's only fitting that it would be in english.
Bonny and Clyde or they were incompetent at being criminals, who thought that to commit a train robbery you take the train to your destination, rob it, and then take the train back home.
The English VA's are so incredibly awesome and fitting! I keep flopping between English and Japanese because both VA's fit them so perfectly! It's amazing. I love these two so much! Definitely one of the best Anime characters out there!
Fun fact: in Durarara (made by the same studio as Baccano!) Issac and Miria make a cameo appearance as part of the Dollars gang in the last episode of the first season. Baccano is set in present day, so that means they found their way to Japan. Also, if one pays attention you can see on the screens as characters walk around scenes from Baccano!
THIS is why these two are the best characters ever! It takes them 60 years, 60 Godd damm years to discover that they live forever......And its still amazing
I just realized that between their Wild West schtick and this 70s thing they're always about 30-40 years behind the times. Also, "What's up, cat daddy?" is the baddest line alive.
As well as to notice that: All their friends are immortal. That they can't seem to get hurt for more than a second. That their blood literally jumps back into them if they get cut.
These two are the only people who actually deserve to be immortal. Most people will probably use it to take over the world or something, but they use their power wisely.
The dub in Baccano is pretty damn good....just like Black Lagoon and Cowboy Bebop. Also baccano is set in 1930's america where everybody is american....so it make sense that they are speaking in english.....duhhhhh.
ah, another sub v. dub war. It never ends. Oh well, I love Isaac and Miria. That light-hearted sillyness is just a little piece of what makes Baccano! so wonderful :)
Funny point: Isaac and Mirya seem to forget they are immortal alot. In one of the first scenes in the very first episode, we see a so far unidentified woman slash Isaac's ear in front of Miriya , Jacuuzi and his crew to demonstrate their healing ability and Isaac & Miriya are surprised to see this, despite this event happening in 1932, two years after they gain immortality and had it explained to them by Maiza(the Alchemist).I believe their wacky psyches self defensively erases their memory.
I wonder if anyone put together the fact that they are in New York in 2001 and a plane is flying overhead, wonder what that could be referencing. Anyway, best anime ever.
Isaac and Miria are the most lovable idiots in anime! Takes them a long time to notice anything even immortality. You have to love city people, they just react to those two with a shrug.
Not noticing different buildings is not that strange, especially since they travel a lot. I only noticed last year that the dirt pile we used to play on as kids has dissappeared and there is now a house standing in its place. But I have no idea since when, even though I can see it from the window. Something like that is way too gradual. And if that plane at 1:25 really was more than just coincidence, then that sure is one awesome reference!
@wysejesta It's on episode 13, The last episode at the very ending.
They had three more episodes after this
I love that this also implies that Isaac and Miria love and care each other so much that they didn't even realize over seventy years had passed that they had been in each other's company.
BalCra best couple of all time
@@RandomShowerThoughts Better than Your Name
@@Ohmagat69420 lol
I was literally so happy when I found out they were immortal. They're just the best.
When your relationship so good, you don't realize you've been together for 70 years...
Or 90 to this day aprox
Wholesome
Technically, they never ACTUALLY realized they were immortal, they just thought that every day was their birthday, which makes this even more hilarious.
best couple ever
Agreed best in anime history
It took them 80 years to realize that they were immortal?! I love them so much.
More like 70
"The family is breaking down!"
I love how happy she is when she says this.
The world is a more wonderful place with those two around...
Fun game: think of anything, show or movie etc, and add Isaac and Miria to it. 99% of the time it improves that thing infinitely.
+Rebecca Marshall put them in teen titans go except the teen titans are gone the show would be so much better
and a couple of years after that they went to tokyo and joined dollars
Durararar!!
Also that scene cracked me up!
So wait does that mean Durarara & Baccano are connected/ canon to one another?
+Ramming Aries
Not really, they just have the same author and Miria & Isaac just make a cameo appearence in Durarara, but you can say that they are in the same universe without it affecting any of the stories.

Does anyone else wish that there was a series based around these dumdums?
+gokuandmario4ever There were a few rumors floating around, that their creator would make a comedic spin-off series for them. +gokuandmario4ever Does anyone not?
they should somehow come up in Durarara because they are immortal and both series are done by the same author so it'd be pretty cuulos I guess
yeeessss!!!!
After all these years, they still walk right down the middle of the street...
Hey, it hasnt killed them yet, why change the habit
Why is people bashing on this dub, it is fucking awesome.
their voices don't even fit their personalities, a big % of dubs are shit, and this one is shit...
xWolFang
True a lot of dubs suck, but this is an example of the dub being better than the original.
xWolFang
Well their voices in Baccano is in my opinion, but their voices in Durarara is pure shit.
Nervnicht
Cowboy Bebop
Nervnicht
No.
wow, they didn't notice. I won't be shocked if they didn't know other things, such as how there is no Santa Clause or how they don't know how babies are born.
Shhhhhh
there not ready to know these things yet
Those two are definitely not the sharpest tools in the shed.
I really wish they had focused more of the show on these two than the rest of the cast. Like some extra episodes or something.
Well they are pretty important tho
1:23
>Manhattan
>2001
Gee, I wonder where that really fast and low flying plane is going.
Nothing bush wouldn't know.
"Thanks bush for fucking up the future"- Future general
"Let's call everyone for a big party!" Like who do you know that's still alive at this point?
Ennis and Firo
protossoverlord09 fair point
Cupid Black They know plenty of immortals and would have met many other people over the years, but they should watch out for those microwaves if they use a cellphone.
Lol
Cupid Black like half of the characters from Baccano. They are immortals dude.
Whats up catdaddy!!
"MIRIA!"
"ISSAC"!
"What's up cat daddy?" Still can't believe she said that..I laugh every time. lol
New York? 2001? Police cars in the beginning? Low flying plane near the end? Is this 9/11?
0.0...I have no words...
X,D!
I'm sorry: I really shouldn't be laughing -_-.
You beat me to this joke by 4 years
It took them 70 years to realize they were immortal... Only Isaac and Miria.
i would have loved to see the faces of everyone else from the series when those two told them that they just realized that they havent aged one bit
Every time these two showed up in the show, no matter what the previous scene was, they always made me laugh, best anime duo ever. Also love the dubbing, I mean the show takes place in America, it's only fitting that it would be in english.
I Kinda wanna the others reaction to those two only now realizing it...
They've probably been taking bets on how long it'd take them to notice heheh
Well, just another day in ikebukuro
So let me try to understand this. They're a mix of Bonnie and Clyde as Snake Oil Salesmen. That's adorable.
That's like me. I often find a subbed version and the original equally as good in their own way. Same with Black Butler.
I fucking love these two
9 years from this scene, they were in Ikebukuro and members of Dollars
did no one notice that the scene vaguely shows that 9/11 is about to happen in the scene
actually 9/11 was in 2001 and their in the year 2000 so no. but I see your point.
was it really the year 2000 i thought it said 2001 the first time i watched this anime...
HideoKojimalol OH NO IM WRONG!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHH IM DYING!!!! X_X
hahha xD
You mean because there was a plane flying overhead? NYC is located relatively close to two major airports; airplanes flying over the city is common.
"Many birthdays to come" indeed! Well, at lease they have each other. Am I right?
1:12 The year is 2001 and they show us a plane!? It's not what I think it is is it?
It is New York as well so...
jktrololo35 And i'm thinking soon enough its all gonna hit the fan.
Tyriek Corbett Imagine Miria's and Isaac's reaction to it.
jktrololo35 I'm already just thinking about it.
Oh god 😱
greatest comic relief characters ever
This is episode 13 after the credits for anyone wondering.
I just lost it at this scene, it caught me completely off guard while being exactly what you would expect from Isaac and Miria :D
Fun fact: in Durarara (made by the same studio as Baccano!) Issac and Miria make a cameo appearance as part of the Dollars gang in the last episode of the first season. Baccano is set in present day, so that means they found their way to Japan. Also, if one pays attention you can see on the screens as characters walk around scenes from Baccano!
their combined scream is my ringtone for when i get a text
THIS is why these two are the best characters ever! It takes them 60 years, 60 Godd damm years to discover that they live forever......And its still amazing

I just realized that between their Wild West schtick and this 70s thing they're always about 30-40 years behind the times.
Also, "What's up, cat daddy?" is the baddest line alive.
That's what I want - a girl to go crazy with!
Only these two could spend eighty years mucking about and not realize how much time had passed.
lol i love how it just hits them that they havent aged in 70 years and their completely blow away
As well as to notice that:
All their friends are immortal.
That they can't seem to get hurt for more than a second.
That their blood literally jumps back into them if they get cut.
9 years later, Isaac and Miria will travel to Japan and take part in the Ikebukuro Dollars Flash Mob Event.
These two are the only people who actually deserve to be immortal. Most people will probably use it to take over the world or something, but they use their power wisely.
10 more years after, they went to japan and join to the gathering happened on the street. (Nah... The went to Durara universe)
1:03
Seventy years living as immortals... and only NOW they noticed!?!
I’d say someone should protect these two precious cinnamon buns, but they’re literally immortal
am so glad these characters exist. The best
Thankfully they're not paid to think. xD
These two were cosplaying decades before the word "cosplay" was even invented.
Funimation's licence for this show expired today. 😭
no not for this show
no not for this show
Awww, they're both just so cute xD
Funny point: Isaac and Mirya seem to forget they are immortal alot. This is my fave scene with these two!
"What's up cat daddy?"
I wonder if anyone put together the fact that they are in New York in 2001 and a plane is flying overhead, wonder what that could be referencing.
Anyway, best anime ever.
I love the dub for this anime
lol Isaac and Mira should visit Japan in the next several years.
They did~ They come out in another anime called "Durarara". I recommend it to you!
jessica serna Now you know why I said what I said...on purpose.
Nandabanana _ r/woosh
I love these two.
I... am in love with those two. I need them in my life.
I want Baccano! to be a movie just so i can see the audience's reaction to that! HAHA!!!
Isaac and Miria
Best couple in anime EVER
So glad I have the box set of this
They finally realized that they didn't age of these past years.
I am soooo happy these two are immortal. They are extremely funny
and it will last forever XD.
This scene always cracks me up X'D I love Baccano.
I freaking love these two.
and mothers are going off to work! i love isaac so much.
Isaac and Miria are the most lovable idiots in anime! Takes them a long time to notice anything even immortality.
You have to love city people, they just react to those two with a shrug.
Best. Thing. Ever.
Now, TECHNICALLY they became immortal in the late 20s, early 30s. They NOTICED their immortality in 2001.
My friend? It took them 70 years to notice!
truer words were never spoken about cellphones and society today
last episode (before the OVAs). THEY ARE TOO FUNNY!!! goddamnit i just had to shout.
i dare any2 to be just like these 2 for a whole year :)
At least they have each other.
We need anime like this
Lovably clueless, that's Issac and Miria. I LOVE those two!
My favorite show of all time. My favorite characters (besides Ladd) of all time.
And it only took them 70 years for them to realize it!
Couple Goals
I don't think they needed to be immortal in the first place, they're just so awesome!
with those two immortal the world is a better place😁
“Husbands are cheating on their wives.” Pretty sure that was going on long before cellphones became a thing.
I thought she said, "What's up pap-daddy?" Lol
Thats even better!
70 years. It took them 70 years.
Happy Many Birthdays to Come!
Yes, very good ones. Most dvds mark them as episodes 14-16
70 years later, and they JUST figured it out.......... kinda.
LOL, Now it all makes sense!
I always wondered why they appeared in Durarara, hahaha they became a part of the Dollars XD
Better late than never...XD
God that was the best easter egg I have ever seen in anime.
this is much better than doctor who
Not noticing different buildings is not that strange, especially since they travel a lot.

It took them 70 fucking years. That... actually seems about right for them.
