The Hero pick rates do NOT prove vanguard and strategists are popular to play regardless of whether they are by role or not. There are more duelists than vanguards and strategists combined, this means the popularity of the role would need to be more than double of the other roles just to make the Hero pick rates EQUAL. If we want to see how popular the role is, we need to see a Role pick rate. And I do think the pick-rates are by role, I added them up and the strategist pick rates sum up to ~100%. But even if they weren't by role, the pick rates of the strategist and vanguard would still look deceptively high just because duelists have more options which dilutes their picks across more roles. That said, I'm still in favor of open queue. I don't think social pressure is a bad thing, I think learning how to be a team-player is a valuable skill that any team game should hope to teach to kids (and emotionally challenged adults).
I think fewer heroes does matter with the pickrate. People do prefer some roles over others, so people who prefer strategists will have fewer heroes to pick from, so their pick rate goes up.
Sam just cause supports are the most picked characters doesnt mean they want to play those heroes its because people at high end will sacrafice fun to win
Sam talking about people talking shit behind a keyboard all day when he does it himself daily lol I would love to see a video of Sam actually standing on business in real life

Wrong about Thor. One of the best thor players pointed out how strong the hammer throw is. More damage than his "shift" ability, and gives shield.
