I was going to launch into a diatribe about the guitar part missing much much much funkiness and lickage but the Phaser/Flanger in the middle changed my mind, I liked that ;-)

The live version is on the david letterman show version. You will also see how off the tambourine playing is. This version sounds like it's being played in a funeral home. The stiffs on the embalming table has more rhythm than these stiffs.

Yeah I tried to pump the bass up but it just overwhelmed everything else. Im fine with the mix, it was just a live jam and it wasnt meant to be anything too serious at the time.

Yeah our version is a bit more popped up than the original. I adapted it a bit. Its a guitar part that Im comfortable with and its easy for me to play. So I just kept it. I think its close enough for govt work lol.

Whats wrong with the lyrics? This song is pretty loose and most people at a private party dont even know the words. Heck I dont even know the words and Ive been playing this song all my life lol.

Ahh. I get it. Yes you are correct. The singer in this situation worked for me. I asked him specifically to keep the songs PG. We play a ton of family events so as a rule we keep everything pretty clean. I also wouldnt post a song with bad language on this site either as this band is "for hire" and our main goal is to make money. Although if someone looked hard they may find a swear word in a song or two here lol. But It could turn a client off to hear cussing etc. I like to turn clients on :) That way I can make that money. Yeah thats probably the bigger discussion... Do you make music and videos for yourself and do whatever you like? Or do you make videos for a client and keep it clean? Ill always keep it clean so I have a better chance of getting the gig :)
