Import/Export with the addition of the Ruiner 2000 and MKI Oppressor was when microtractions in GTA realy began to ramp up on pay-to-win. Arena War was the the most blatant pay-to-win DLC with every thing being overpriced, jobs under paying, and a requirement to have custom vehicles specifically for that game mode just to be competitive. Even clothing items and upgrades that applied outside of the DLC, such as colored head lights still have a trade price. It also was the fastest DLC to die which sucks for anyone that wants to unlock anything by playing it.

In my opinion the reason why Rockstar can get away with everything they do up until now is be the massive amount of content creators that “review” the new content! They unknowingly advertise new cars and businesses to their audience! I can name a handful of YTbers that bought the new weaponized car just to say it’s trash but yet still showing it off and upgrading it for views!

@@mtndanville9300 I never played gta 5 online free mode until 2016. I was only playing missions every day since 2013 and ranking up 2 levels everyday. there is 365 days in a year , in 2 years you will be rank 730.

Rockstar is literally scrapping the bottom of the barrel with their nonsense
Rockstar also totally nerfed the Amazon prime/Twitch benefits. Actually it‘s just GTA$100,000 a week. When the Tuners DLC came out, you got at least a free Autoshop and some (two) good discounts between 50 and 80% on specific vehicles every week. Rockstar also nerfed the regular discounts from 30-40% sometimes even 50% to 20-30%. So they are trying to sell more shark cards? Do they have a financial problem? What‘s the stock market saying?
I have been wondering the same. Was there a disagreement between Take Two and Amazon?

I remember when we got The Cayo Perico Heist DLC, there was this fear that what is Rockstar gonna do since it pays very good? Even more Hyperinflation in the next DLC or two? Prices are gonna go even more sky rocket high? I wonder if ANYONE did ever predict THIS!
You know, I always wondered why Cayo was even put in the game. As a player I love it, but from a business point of view they pretty much nullified the need to buy shark cards. GTA+ makes total sense in this regard as you have pointed out. I'm sure shark card sales have taken a huge hit since Cayo, and this is what we get as a result. Personally, I never minded shark cards since you could still buy everything with ingame money - even if it took a while before Cayo - and there was no premium currency that locked you out of things. And now... this. I do wonder where this will go eventually.
@@firun2635 Yeah. I hope it doesn't 'lock' us out of some stuff like completely, time will tell. Still it'll hurt the game if they even make the fun parts of Event Weeks locked to the GTA+ users. No wonder why many of the last Event Weeks where not quite as fun as they could be, even I've noticed lesser property discounts, which even though I own everything, personally it scares me.

Wow, and people have been defending R* whenever I call them out for years now. Yet time and time again, they prove I was right about them all along. I called them out as soon as DLC started being online only, and fanboys defended them saying it was ok to be in online only.
It's the consumers fault, really. They wouldn't push these type of business practices if people wouldn't pay for the services. Smh, it's insane.
Don't get me wrong, I've paid for some stuff on GTA. After like 6yrs playing, they had half off for CEO/Megaladon/Digital Version ($40-50). Why not, but a "+" membership is the lowest of low. Literally not worth, I prefer driving slower cars. This move is 2nd, only to the adding of the Oppressors. RIP, guess it's time to wait for GTA 6.

I’d honestly would’ve been okay with it had they made it apart of the world and required you to use in game currency to buy plus as a membership.
The only thing that could make this worse is if they lock DLCs and any new story content to the subscriptions.
A private "Public Lobby" would have made me try it. But what it offers now, stuff I already have and other stuff I dont need....just not worth it.

i think GTA Plus was on purpose, they already knew they'd receive backlash from everyone but went ahead and introduced it into the game so people would cancel their game for real this time so they can finally reveal GTA 6

My thought is that these game companies have realized that the ‘whales’ don’t have any regard for the value of what they purchase. And this may seem obvious, but I’m not just talking about overpaying for micro transactions. I think the ‘whales’ see the act of paying for something as a measure of value, in and of itself. They want to pay extra, and they want to be seen paying extra. The fact that they get almost nothing is meaningless - it might even be part of the appeal. That’s why I think they’re offering so little. And that’s why I think there’s an in game GTA+ t shirt included. I would think it would be insulting paying money to get a digital shirt which is just a walking billboard for the corporation. But for them, it’s actually a status symbol - they see it as being in an exclusive club. I think the act of being exploited is what they’re paying for, which is really bizarre to me. Normal gamers are insulted by the whole thing, but whales will line up to pay for it.
i love when rockstar disables Ebrake drifting for the tuner cars. The whole reason people want drift tires is to actually drift. Not slide around like an idiot. So now we’re paying 1.5 mil for cars with decent customization that are somewhat quick. LITERALLY NO POINT IN DRIFT TIRES. But sure let’s keep adding those useless overpriced items no one wants instead of fixing our game

you know what? console players should really try to find a decent used 2013 PC, buy gta when it's on sale (currently -50% on Epic Store atm, and -63% on Steam), play with former console friends and never ever buy any sharkcards. pretty sure they'll find some kind veterans with 1000+ rank who will be very happy to teach & help. thousand of hours of fun for only 15 bucks, that's all this game worth in 2022!
