    My gums bleed when I floss sometimes, and some areas are more prone to bleeding than others. Should I try to clean those areas more thoroughly?

    • @josephrnemeth
      @josephrnemeth  4 ปีที่แล้ว +436

      Yes, those problem areas that bleed more frequently usually have a higher concentration of bacteria and infection. It's important that you clean your entire mouth routinely, but you should definitely place more energy and importance on those problem areas. You can do this by brushing those areas more aggressively and by focusing on those areas with your floss and Waterpik. Good luck to you!

      You should keep flossing, go and get a hygienist clean and wash your mouth out with salt water! Those 3 things will reduce the risk of you getting gum disease or if you have it will keep it under control and save your teeth.

    I had bleeding gums for many years!! 5 days ago it was bleeding bad. I used a gingivitis mouth wash, flossed properly, used an oral b electric toothbrush 2 x per day, and MOST IMPORTANT I got a waterpik waterflosser and used 90 seconds per day at level 4/9 pressure. I also swished coconut oil in my mouth for 10-15 min per day.
    Today I went to the dentist and they said I had extremely healthy gums!!! 0 bleeding during the whole cleaning !! 5 day turnaround!
    I think waterpiks clear the plaque in the gum line way better than anything. Flossing and brushing is important still.

      I could probably have a lawsuit with the things that I've experienced and this has been since I was young.. my first bad experience I was a teenager but not one dentist or hygienist ever helped me to learn what I was doing wrong or how to fix it.. all they did was stab, drill, pull and they would humiliate me.

I then got practiced on by dental students im like what are these dental offices doing! Ive felt your pain too ive had one laugh in next room go man this gal had bad teeth lets charge more. Yeah but you also have to remember there are microorganisms that help too and they’re very common in your mouth mostly all of them are passive and contribute to your digestion.
      Some bacteria are actually bad in which they are dormant or inactive meaning they are passive for now whenever an opening occur they will activate and turn on you.
      Always rinse your mouth with mouthwash as this tends to help.
      Also one more thing blame these assholes for making your breath smell bad.

    I had one area in my mouth that continued to bleed regardless the amount of times I booked into my Oral hygienist. In 2018 I was diagnosed with H-Pylori infection and was prescribed Clarythromicin Amoxcilin and Pantoprazole. Not only did I cured my stomach infection but also the bleed in my mouth cleared up and I have not had bleeding gums since. Also, the foul taste in my mouth has gone. I would recommend to anyone who has chronic bad breath to get screened for H-Pylori infection. I have since been diagnosed with IBS which is pretty much my fault because I am not taking care of myself. My motivation was dealt a serious blow in 1967 when i acquired a brain injury after a car accident when I was 2.

    I had bleeding gums for 30 years - went for deep cleanings and switched to a natural mouthwash -helped some but I found an oral surgeon who prescribed AVOX - an antibiotic ( I think it’s a version of amoxicillin) - I took it for 45 days - it cured me completely - I floss n brush as I always did and get cleanings every 4 months - now I have zero bleeding - zero bad breath - zero inflamed gums - changed my life - my mouth is totally healthy- very rare for a 64yo guy - I think I had an infection for years that was causing all my issues - it’s a miracle- best of luck

    This is really scary, but a good eye opener. Im definitely one with gum disease. I tend to bleed from my gums when i brush, but not as much as i used to. I learned that u shouldn't brush your teeth too hard either because that causes gum irritation and bleeding too. It also causes the gum to receed.

    • @tudo7762
      @tudo7762 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Brush your teeth with toothbrush hard is not good. Bleeding when flossing for the first few time are usually normal. Keep flossing daily (for a month) until your gum get use to flossing and the bleeding should stop when your gum is use to flossing daily. If it keeps 🩸, better make an appointment ASAP

      Get yourself a waterpik and do water flossing with mixed water and mouthwash right every night and morning in your case. You'll be amazed by the transformation after two weeks. Floss your teeth after the water flossing using an interdental brush and a dental floss covered with toothpaste followed by cleaning your tongue with a tongue scraper covered with toothpaste. Before bedtime, smear your teeth and gum with toothpaste. You'll be amazed by the transformation.

      Food Forever hey I have a tip for you. My gums used to bleed alot when I brushed them but trust me you can sort it with a short amount of time . If you brush twice a day that doesn't help, well I mean it does but you also have to floss, so I would recommend you floss once a day and do that at night after brushing. When brushing divide your mouth into 4. And in each quarter brush for 30 seconds then move to the next quarter until you've done it. Flossing really helped me, cos last week I went to the dentist and they said make sure to floss. So I started flossing last Monday and after 2 to 3 days my gums stopped bleeding completely. I hope this helps you

    Thank you very much to all of the local dentists I went to over the years who ALWAYS made it seem like my bleeding gums were not a big deal.. not one of them told me how serious of an issue it was and now thanks to the internet, I'm finally having to learn on my own.. even though it's too late and I'm losing teeth left and right 😞 it's heartbreaking and embarrassing because I actually had a gorgeous smile. Dentists and doctors both of them have done nothing but cause problems for myself, friends and family members..
    The only actual relief I ever got was from going to an acupuncturist and herbalist and a chiropractor ( and unfortunately not all chiropractors are good either.. those are the ones who give Chiropractic a bad name) it took me 4 different chiropractors before I found one who was ethically and morally interested in my health, not just my money!
